She was in a pitiful state alas
\nLying in a ring
\nWe picked her up and carried her
\nShe was starved poor little thing
\nAt hospital we sedated her
\nCleaned her wounds and she
\nHad broken teeth and a fractured jaw
\nShe had been in agony<\/p>\n
But she really was a darling girl
\nAnd as soon as she came around
\nShe was willing she was ready
\nTo eat from the day we found
\nHer clearly she had not eaten
\nNor drunk and clearly she
\nWas close to dying where she lay
\nBut now extraordinarily<\/p>\n
she was full of joyous banter
\nA few days down the line
\nBouncing around the yard here
\nYou can just define
\nThe spirit and the energy
\nThis darling girl had, she
\nLoved the cuddles that she got
\nShe found them heavenly<\/p>\n
“Dory” she was glory to us all
\nShe loved to play
\nWagged her tail and did never fail
\nTo do tricks every day
\nStarved of real affection
\nA lost soul one might say
\nOn the streets of Rajastan
\nWhere all the streets dogs pay<\/p>\n
A high price for their loneliness
\nTreated well like scum
\nLike garbage and they manage
\nThough life becomes quite numb
\nThey just about get through the day
\nAnd then suffer the night
\nLoneliness is awful
