She lay there
\nAbsolutely still
\nClose to death
\nShe\u2019d had her fill
\nOf life
\nOut on the streets
\nOf pain
\nWhere everything just seemed
\nIn vain<\/p>\n
She was brave
\nThat much we saw
\nBut was unconscious
\nAnd what\u2019s more
\nWounded underneath her chin
\nBones showing
\nShe was very thin<\/p>\n
We came and saw her
\nAnd took her back
\nCleaned the wounds
\nHad some attack
\nHappened really it was hard to say
\nShe was suffering though
\nNight and day<\/p>\n
We gave her sedatives
\nTo help with pain
\nTo help her rest
\nAnd the disdain
\nGave her love and cuddles
\nWe
\nReally tried hard
\nConstantly<\/p>\n
Our sari\u2019d ladies
\nFed her by
\nSyringe her helplessness
\nWe cry
\ninside ourselves
\nSeeing her pain
\nIt\u2019s very hard
\nAnd is a stain<\/p>\n
On humanity
\nSix days went by
\nSeeing her tears in our eye
\nWobbling About unable to
\nFeed herself
\nAnd that was true<\/p>\n
10 days treatments
\nEveryday
\nit was slow
\nWhatever way
\nHer great big eyes
\nLooked up as we
\nFed her really constantly
\n6 weeks later
\nShe could feed and drink water
\nShe could succeed
\nBut still was dodgy of her feet
\nStaggering about
\nNothing complete<\/p>\n
Later on she was fostered out
\nTo people who loved her
\nThere was no doubt
\nGave her the cuddles and kisses too
\nOn spindly legs she would rock to you
\nAnd now some months have passed
\nAnd she
\nIs wanting about constantly
\nShe plays with the kitten
\nAnd truthfully
