A street dog
\nThat had clearly
\nGone through wars
\nFor he
\nHad lost his leg
\nAnd had lost an eye
\nBut despite that
\nSignificantly
\nHe was kind of philosophic
\nHis expectations high
\nHe was mindful and understanding
\nAnd his powers of thought
\nWere high<\/p>\n
Clearly he had really suffered
\nMust have been in lots of pain
\nBut instead of crying all the time
\nHe tried to remain
\nSpirited and thoughtful
\nFull of real belief
\nThat someone somewhere
\nWould come along
\nAnd give him some relief<\/p>\n
We called him \u201cPirate\u201d
\nHe was such a jolly little lad
\nHe had been badly injured
\nBut he didn\u2019t take it bad
\nWhen we went to find him
\nIt was quite late at night
\nHe really was in trouble
\nBut we never thought he would bite
\nOr turn on us he was gentle
\nEnquiring and alone
\nWe took him to the hospital
\nAnd not once did he groan<\/p>\n
His leg was very very bad
\nAnd we had to amputate
\nHis eye was really terrible
\nWhat was to be his fate
\nLife on Three legs and one eye
\nBut as soon as he came around
\nHis spirit showed
\nHis tail was wagging
\nFrom side to side
\nAnd the hope in him just flowed<\/p>\n
He had the will and purpose
\nHis disposition good
\nIt was so easy to love him
\nHe was just so very good
\nAnd one of our angels
\nTappu she took a shine to him
\nHe was dogged and his joy
\nWas pouring from him actually
\nHe was Such a lovely boy<\/p>\n
Tappu and him were lovely friends
\nAnd the street dog had now found
\nA forever home for certain
\nAnd would always bound
\nOver to her, playful gentle
\nAs could be
\nA new life they have both
\nAccepted
\nReciprocity<\/p>\n
He loves to play
\nHe loves to be
\nWith his latest friend
\nBoth have found a harmony
\nWhich they know will never end
\nA mutual understanding
\nA caring attitude
\nLook at them together
\nTheir spirits just exude<\/p>\n
