The light of the water
\nSplash and tumble
\nOut of grey skies thermal
\nSkin
\nThe second harvest’s
\nTrue abundance
\nThe wheel of life
\nOfcourse did spin<\/p>\n
Equal days and nights upon us
\nFeast of gathering
\nEarthly fruits
\nReap and heap and accumulate
\nRetain replenish
\nAnd proliferate<\/p>\n
The fields all stripped
\nOf wheat and corn
\nOf Rye and Barley’s shimmering gaze
\nDemeter goes underground to the
\nUnderworld and her heavenly phase<\/p>\n
Loaves of sough dough laced with
\nHazels
\nAle and cyder Rough and strong
\nThe bounty all festooned with Sugars
\nThe vine and soon the ivy’s song
\nLight the candle red and scented
\nDraped with Ivy and with musk
\nThe trees still laden with their leaves
\nDancing as the coming dusk<\/p>\n
Light be fading Autumn’s aiding
\nCooler times and winters blast
\nA resurrection and reflection
\nThe soul all seeing and is cast
\nThe Missel Thrush we may encounter
\nOn the ivy’s berries she
\nLoves the blackness and the sweetness
\nAppreciated by the Bee<\/p>\n
The second harvest before the frost
\nThe sweeter gift forever tossed
\nApples feeling from jack’s kisses
\nThough several probably will be lost
\nTorn off boughs by wind and hail
\nTo bruise and come to rest below
\nPerhaps the slugs and snail if present
