Excluded from humanity
\nIn squalor and in slum
\nStreet dogs disadvantages
\nTheir whole world clearly numb
\nUnseen by the motorists
\nAnd driven into they
\nLay around the city
\nEvery single day
\nOne such hound was “pintu”
\nA mongrel to regard
\nClearly he was driven into
\nVery very hard
\nLying in the bricks and rubble
\nA lady rang him in
\nThe ambulance came quickly
\nHe was very thin<\/p>\n
Spirited and sensitive
\nHis idea was to try
\nAnd rest there
\nClearly shaken up
\nLooking at the sky
\nHe knew his back was painful
\nAnd shock had set in too
\nTwinges they were evident
\nBut he didnt know what to do
\nThe ambulance came quickly
\nThe angels helped in, they
\nPut a blanket around him
\nAnd carried him away<\/p>\n
Back at the caring station
\nHe was laid down and they saw
\nHis back legs were all crumpled
\nAnd he had pain they could not ignore
\nHe was administered pain killers
\nAnd given time to rest
\nThere was no way he could stand
\nUp by himself
\nThey thought it best
\nTo massage him and give
\nHim physio each day
\nLove him give him confidence
\nShare their time and play<\/p>\n
Remember as a street dog
\nJust nobody cares
\nIts like a frantic jungle
\nEverybody swears
\nThrows things at you
\nAnd now to find angels
\nWith soft hands
\nKisses and caresses
\nAnd what seemed like
\nSome fans
\nHelping always helping
\nIn their gentle way
\nTrust built up their caring
\nHelped to banish pain awAy<\/p>\n
Progress it was slow
\nA lot had gone on then before
\nBut though it took about six weeks
\n“Pintu” became sure
\nHe started to walk slowly by himself
\nAnd before time
\nWas running around the compound
\nHe made the glorious climb
\nBack to true normality
\nIn this lovely place
\nWhen ladies in fine sari’s
\nActually kissed his face
\nAnd gentle men and other ladies
\nEverybody here
\nWas genuine and caring
