To go through that and suffer
\nTorment of the ailing kind
\nHuman interference
\nThat penetrates one\u2019s mind
\nThe harshness and the roughness
\nThe tribulations too
\nThe throbbing caustic gruelling pain
\nIn what some people do
\nThreaded wire around one\u2019s jaws
\nThe malignity is true
\nTearing deeply through the teeth
\nAnd back out around the jaw
\nThe muzzle and even the snout
\nAnd what is the reason for
\nProper persecution
\nAnd botheration which
\nWill be wholly displeasing
\nFor any injured bitch<\/p>\n
Unpalatable behaviour
\nRotten to the core
\nFrighteningly obvious
\nInsidiously sore
\nIn the street just bottled
\nLeft alas to defend
\nTotally offensive
\nAnd likely to send<\/p>\n
The victim into panic
\nOut on the street no lie
\nBut found by the street angels
\nWho thought that the dog might die
\nThey sedated it which helped a lot
\nAnd gave it pills to kill
\nAll the vile infections
\nThat It was having still.<\/p>\n
After a little healing
\nThe day came when they must
\nCut the wire around its jaw
\nWhich was bound to disgust
\nIt really was unpleasant
\nThe bad tastes that It had
\nThe burning and the tenderness
\nIt just drove that dog mad<\/p>\n
Pulling the wire
\nand cutting it into pieces
\nAnd pulled it though its jaw
\nIt really was
\nOffensive to me
\nWhat was it therefore
\nImpossible and insufferable
\nBut soon the last strands gone
\nCleaned it and they dressed it
\nleft with dressings on<\/p>\n
They kept me in a plastic bowl
\nBlanket and some bits
\nThat was just my mobile home a while
\nEverything fits
\nMy teeth they still were aching
\nI hope for more relief
\nThey tried and tried to comfort me
\nBut Just gave me more grief<\/p>\n
Trust of course apparently
\nThe one thing in my life
\nThat just obviously meant something
\nAnd the continued strife
\nDay after day they patted her
\nTalked to me and said
\nReally how much we loved you
\nAnd were glad that now your fed
\nOn little bits of food daily
\nAnd as her strength
\nCame back
\nMore care more love and the next day
\nUntil she seemed back on track<\/p>\n
She loved her bowls of water
\nAnd would sit in them a while
\nShe wouldn\u2019t let anyone touch her,
\nAlthough she did have style
\nNervous whe was aching
\nAnd The pain was everywhere
\nShe was on her own a lot
\nAnd was getting more aware<\/p>\n
But she never really got back
\nTo being overcome
\nWith kisses or with caring
\nOr wanting to rub her tum
\nShe stayed resolved to being
\nA wild soul with a friend
\nAnd really she was like
