There she was so desperate
\nLeaping through a narrow space
\nShe impales herself on an aerial
\nThrough her stomach
\nWe must brace
\nourselves
\nAs we inspect her
\nHead down near the floor
\nAnd the only course of action
\nTo slide her off for sure<\/p>\n
The agony of doing that
\nBut what else could we do
\nSuffering the abrasions
\nThe soreness pouring through
\nHer internal organs open
\nHindered by the wire
\nIt must have felt extraordinary
\nAnd what is truly dire<\/p>\n
Hanging there not wanting
\nTo move an inch at all
\nIt\u2019s kind of chafing ones insides
\nSomething too hard to call
\nWanting to surrender
\nYet resigned to being there
\nAlmost succumbing to the shock
\nOf the awe and the despair<\/p>\n
\u201cQueenie\u201d shaking violently
\nFrom what was Awful pain
\nAnd A failure to extricate herself
\nFeeling Deep in her core
\nShe felt the end was coming
\nThe misfortune to be
\nIn what is a situation
\nOf severity<\/p>\n
We took to the hospital
\nAnd sedated her for she
\nWas clearly shocked out of her mind
\nAnd we cleaned her wounds to see
\nHer willingness to settle
\nWas good I have to say
\nDressed the wounds and made her feel
\nComfortable that day<\/p>\n
The need was to just love her
\nCuddle her and say
\nPat and kiss and share
\nOur thoughts and love with her
\nToday
\nShe clearly got the message
\nAnd realised that we
\nWe all there
\nTo give her a rest and to aid her
\nEffectively<\/p>\n
A month passed and she showed us
\nHer temerity and hope
\nAll of us took her under our wing
\nHelping her to cope
\nAnd already she was getting better
\nReally by the day
\nTongue out tail a wagging
