\nOn a rubbish tip
\nBy a barbed wire fence
\nBathing in pure hopelessness
\nHe could\u2019t make no sense
\nOf life out
\nOn the roadside
\nThe Dust dirt and despair
\nHis hopes had been extinguished
\nHe was hopelessly aware
\nThat nobody now cared for him
\nHe was all alone
\nHe just laid down in all the trash
\nHe let his last groan
\nHead down he was fly bait
\nUntil we came along
\nAnd offered him a biscuit
\nMY god something was wrong<\/p>\n
He was startled he was nervous
\nHe was frightened that\u2019s for sure
\nHe tried to run off up the road
\nBut was clearly very sore
\nWe tossed a blanket on his back
\nAnd took him to the van
\nOne of our angels brought him in
\nWhich had always been the plan<\/p>\n
He was skin and bone and agony
\nHis misgivings and mistrust
\nBuilt up over months of pain
\nAnd what felt like disgust
\nHis face all tears and dried blood
\nMange was everywhere
\nNot an inch of soft fur left
\nAnd nobody to care<\/p>\n
His ribs were all protruding
\nA pockmarked body be
\nWas clearly so uncomfortable
\nAnyone could see
\nThe lesions and the scratches
\nThe parasitic scars
\nWe used our medicated creams
\nWe did use a few jars
\nWashed him creamed him
\nLoved him cuddled him a lot
\nA few weeks of this treatment
\nAnd he knew that he had got
\nHis life back all that shock and awe
\nThat utter misery
\nregular meals and fresh water
\nHe just felt so free
\nPlayful with his comrades
\nPlaymates
\nall around
\nThe girls they all just loved him
\nAnd he covered the ground
\nRunning this way that way
\nHe had been close to death
\nAnd now was more like Peter Pan
