Underneath a counter
\nIn a slum area we see
\nA shadow of his former self
\nLooking painfully
\nOut upon the tumble of
\nPeople thereabout
\nDrenched in people poverty
\nOf that there was little doubt<\/p>\n
Really badly injured
\nOne of his eyes had popped
\nSuch a weird affliction
\nNothing could have topped
\nThat a stream of blood
\nRan down his face
\nAnd clearly he
\nWas tormented by the agony
\nThat anyone could see<\/p>\n
He wasn\u2019t just a street dog
\nIt\u2019s just his guardians they
\nWere Too poor to get vets involved
\nAnd so they thought to say
\nANIMALAID unlimited
\nCall them up to see
\nIf they would come and rescue
\nHim
\nAnd they did immediately<\/p>\n
Wrapped him very gently
\nIn a blanket and they sent
\n\u201cSheru\u201d off to hospital
\nHe appeared content
\nHe was then sedated
\nAnd by emergency
\nThe eye it had to be removed
\nAnd stitched up rapidly<\/p>\n
The sari clad
\nWere on his case
\nWhen \u201csheru\u201d came around
\nHe did feel dejected
\nBut his feet were on the ground
\nHe was given cuddles
\nLots of them and they
\nClearly made the difference
\nAnd he was eating straight away<\/p>\n
It\u2019s amazing when neglect
\nTakes charge how quickly souls can lapse
\nBut comfort and a caring hand
\nReally kind of taps
\ninto the true psyche
\nIt lifts one as we see
\nAnd all the sari women
\nJust loved him honestly<\/p>\n
He loved to sit in bowls of water
\nCurled up probably
\nThinking to himself how lucky
\nThat he be
\nHe received a lot of kisses
\nAnd his luck apparently
\nHad changed to good from
\nNot so good
\nand for him
\nThat was the key<\/p>\n
Another victim
\nHappy
\nThe angels of the street
\nWorked their miracles on him
\nMade his life complete
\nBrought the pup out of him
\nMade him like to play
\nHe was just a different dog
