Lying in a gutter
\nOf all places to be
\nSoaked with filthy water
\nFor an eternity
\nRocking in the gulley
\nAs discharge swishes through
\nSoaking wet and smelly
\nA cat a sweet soul who<\/p>\n
Finds itself in purgatory
\nIn a parlous state
\nIs wrapped up in a blanket
\nAnd probably feels that\u2019s great
\nOff she goes to hospital
\nThe street angels to where
\nSedated and then
\ncomforted
\nA lucky day for her<\/p>\n
Washed and cleaned
\nAnd given food
\nAnd soon as right as rain
\nA feisty little pussy cat
\nWith everything to gain
\nA very small cute body
\nWit a tigers heart no doubt
\nAnd within a week of caring
\nShe was putting it about<\/p>\n
Play fighting with the older cats
\nAnd eating all she got
\nClose to dying in the drain
\nBut loved now and a lot
\nClose to death or sickness
\nShe is perfectly in cinq
\nAnd we shall find a new home for her
