The call was to a shrubbery
\nDense with flowers all green
\nAnd lying there a tan and white
\nBitch so very lean
\nClearly badly wounded
\nA head injury
\nPossibly a brain problem
\nThat\u2019s what it\u2019s seemed to be<\/p>\n
We wrapped her in a towel
\nAnd brought her home
\nWhere she could be
\nCared for by our lovely team
\nOf angels constantly<\/p>\n
Her eyes were open
\nBut movement was hardly there at all
\nTotal disorientation
\nHer uncertainty
\nDid call <\/p>\n
Forth in us Brain damage
\nThat rationality
\nWe decided we would
\nClean her up
\nand dress the wound and see<\/p>\n
She couldn\u2019t stand
\nShe crumpled, her legs
\nSplayed everywhere
\nWe had no idea what had Happened
\nBut she now needed our care<\/p>\n
Supportive rest was needed
\nComfort all the way
\nFed her very quietly
\nDay five to her did say
\nRemoved all of the dressings
\nCleaned the wound again
\nShe was a little stronger
\nBut clearly in some pain<\/p>\n
Maybe she was wavering
\nUncertain of our care
\nQuestioning what happened
\nWe remained aware
\nBy day 15
\nShe was stronger
\nReally a different feel
\nOur faith had been rewarded
\nFor the Rest it did reveal<\/p>\n
A more responsive lady
\nMore credible let\u2019s say
\nMore accepting of our presence
\nTail wagging away
\nAmenable and happy
\nThat\u2019s Muriel today
\nTwo months or so had passed
\nAnd the joy is back
\nHer play <\/p>\n
is constant
\nAnd her balance
\nShe\u2019s inventive
\nAnd, she likes to run
\nAnd Is playing with the others now
\nOut there in the sun<\/p>\n
she is gentle
\nAnd incisive
\nLoves being picked up
\nAnd she
\nWe think is back to her
\nOwn sweet self
