\nWounded covered in maggots
\nIt looked as though she would die
\nFull on trepidation
\nThough aspiring in a way
\nBeginning the treatments
\nOn that very first day<\/p>\n
The wounds were deep and ugly
\nAll seemed hopeless in a way
\nBut she was full of spirit
\nFull of hope wanting to say
\nShe wasn\u2019t really ready
\nTo perish in the street
\nWashed her cleaned her loved her
\nUntil her eyes did greet<\/p>\n
Ours a reassurance
\nThere was much more to come
\nRemoving hundreds of maggots
\nShe might have been more glum
\nBut In fact despite the agony
\nThat obviously she was in
\nShe let us clean the dressings every day
\nTowards her win<\/p>\n
Every day new dressings
\nPus was everywhere
\nWe were not going to neglect her
\nWe just wanted to care
\nWashing her healing her caring
\nEveryday
\nUntil she starting wagging
\nThat tail of hers to say<\/p>\n
She felt a little better
\nDay 75 that long
\nShe was very loving
\nAnd slowly becoming strong
\nJumping up a bit at us
\nHer confidence assured
\nShe was kind of gushing
