Unbelievable cruelty
\nIs carried out each day
\nIn dairy farms across the globe
\nWhere farmers will not pay
\nA penny more than they have to
\nMoney the driving force
\nAnd many a pregnant cow
\nIs sent to the abattoir
\nThe source
\nImpregnating cows
\nIs how there is milk around
\nTo use
\nBut cows so often pregnant
\nReally we do abuse
\nEvery single dairy cow
\nShe is pregnant all the time
\nIt wears her down
\nShe loses milk production
\nAnd my rhyme
\nis a reason
\nWe must contemplate
\nFor the farmers everywhere
\nWho send their cows to slaughter
\nVery much aware<\/p>\n
That the mother has her baby
\nWith all the maternal care
\nBeing shipped to the slaughterhouse
\nThe matriarchal dare
\nTo do what perhaps some others
\nJust would never do
\nOne such cow, YES she
\nLeapt off the second floor
\nOf the transporter cagily<\/p>\n
Imagine that
\nright up there
\nIn the dead of night
\nIt was Just after Christmas
\nIn the starry light
\nStanding with a crowd of other cows
\nSharing their breath
\nKnowing she was going
\nYes going to her death<\/p>\n
And Inside her was a baby
\nCreations miracle who
\nWas very close to being born
\nDid the farmer have a clue?
\nThis took place in New Jersey
\nOn Route 80 when she leapt
\nDown onto the highway
\nInto the traffic swept<\/p>\n
The indifference of the dairy
\nThe insouciance displayed
\nVegetarians everywhere
\nWho support this evil trade
\nWho love their milky chocolate
\nAnd of course DAIRY ice cream
\nIn the darkness of each slaughterhouse
\nDO you hear the mothers scream<\/p>\n
Those that give birth and the calf
\nIs taken straight away
\nThe females go to veal perhaps
\nThe males, what can I say
\nThey may get to the abattoir
\nOr just get shot alone
\nLife that whole great miracle
\nJust an undertone<\/p>\n
What\u2019s godly about slaughter
\nJust because you chose
\nTo become a dairy farmer
\nAnd for some reason pose
\nAs some amazing fellow
\nThe cruelty we see
\nThe rape the kidnap
\nAnd the murder
\nThe criminality<\/p>\n
This night of the 27 th
\nOf December icy cold
\nRumbling along the highway
\nThey all had been sold
\nA mother who had carried
\nHer baby a long time
\nWas aware her child was kicking
\nwondered if she might climb<\/p>\n
Get up on another cow and stick her head
\nOut of the truck
\nLeap into the darkness
\nTry to improve her luck
\nDown she fell an extraordinary
\nThing for her to do
\nBruise her knees
\nAnd bloody her nose
\nAnd her shoulder too<\/p>\n
But be alive to realise
\nThe truck went on it\u2019s way
\nHer comrades all were finished
\nThey would All be made to pay
\nFor being slaves of the dairy
\nThe wonderful industry
\nThat has an unbiased attitude
\nTo the mothers tragically<\/p>\n
She blindly ran the gauntlet
\nWith vehicles passing by
\nThe police were called
\nTruckers stopped
\nShe was haltered
\nWhich is why
\nWe are able to tell the story
\nA veterinary was called
\nAnd realised she was pregnant
\nAnd SKYLANDS were appalled
\nTo hear this frantic mother
\nHad a very heavy child
\nAnd so agreed to take them both
\nThe problem reconciled<\/p>\n
Within two days the baby
\nA beautiful calf, indeed
\nWas born and both were happy
\nNo slaughterman would bleed
\nThe mother or the unborn calf
\nCommit the infanticide
\nRIP a foetus from her body
\nThat act was denied.<\/p>\n
\u201cBRIANNA and dear WINTER\u201d
\nA marvellous mother who
\nLoved her child and made the effort
\nThat few with ever do
\nShe might have just been slaughtered
\nBut the police and trucks thank god
\nWere people with compassion
\nUnlike the dairy sod<\/p>\n
Not some gruesome nasty bit of work
\nAnd there are some
\nWho see her as so many burgers
\nReally they are numb
\nTo any sort of empathy
\nDespicable all day
\nThe majority unfortunately
\nWho make the animals pay<\/p>\n
Mind you they have no stomach
\nFor what goes on I know
\nThe oh so peaceful veggies
\nThat love the dairy so
\nYoghurts smoothies rich desserts
\nAnd milky chocolate they
\nLook down on meat eaters
\nBut in honestly are a way<\/p>\n
Down the karmic highway too
\nWhere the babies suffer so
\nThe mothers tHey are caring loving thoughtful
\nAnd they flow
\nTrue from all the milking
\nGo lame poor dairy slaves
\nAnd end up in meat eaters guts
\nWhose entrails are their graves<\/p>\n
These two beautiful animals
\nAre now in Wantage where
\nSKYLANDS ANIMAL SANCTUARY
\nscoops up all the despair
\nPut its money where it\u2019s mouth is
\nLoves the victims who
\nHappen to be the lucky ones
\nWho are the very few<\/p>\n
Thousands of pregnant mothers
\nGo to slaughter everyday
\nCalf skin bags and a
\nWallets
\nRemember what I say
\nVeal chained up and fed on milky slops
\nUntil the time
\nIs right to cut their tiny throats
\nAnd remember them with a rhyme<\/p>\n
Life it is enchanting
\nThe composure and the calm
\nTo commit it all to irreverence
\nTo indifference and to harm
\nDisbelief from some of you reading this today
\nMy eyes are full of tears
\nThis I deem to say<\/p>\n
They live with reputation
\nAnd respectability
\nCream cakes cheese and custard
\nAnd insensibility
\nCan you taste the disrespect
\nThe scorn and the disdain
\nCan you imagine the vile neglect
\nAnd the lasting pain.<\/p>\n
I have a low opinion
\nOf the vegetarian hordes
\nWho believe their holy consequence
\nThey will get no rewards
\nFrom me
\nJust castigation
\nAdmonishment as well
\nFor every pregnant mother
