There she was the worse for wear
\nA gaping hole
\nA soulful stare
\nA Jennet suffering all could see
\nAnd probably feel that agony
\nShe was in a dishevelled state
\nAbandoned to her probable fate
\nDeath was close
\nOne had to say
\nWhen the animal aid
\nArrived that day<\/p>\n
She was losing ground
\nAnd rapidly
\nImpoverished
\nShe had to be
\nA casualty in rapid need
\nThe worse for wear
\nOh yes indeed<\/p>\n
Maggots they were everywhere
\nThe wound was writhing
\nSuch despair
\nShe felt of course she felt alone
\nAnd the wound so deep
\nIt exposed the bone<\/p>\n
Animal aid unlimited came
\nPicked her up
\nHer weakened frame
\nAnd took her back to the hospital where
\nThey removed the dirt
\nAnd some of the hair
\nApplied the maggot powder
\nAnd she
\nWas bandaged up
\nFor maybe three
\nHours the wound then
\nSluiced and clean
\nAntibiotics
\nWhere there had been
\nSepsis and once again
\nCovered for she
\nWould have to heal
\nFor her to be<\/p>\n
Ten days passed and everyday
\nThe wound was cleaned
\nAnd they did spray
\nAntibiotics
\nAnd in ten days
\nThe wound itself
\nReached a rapid phase
\nOf healing
\nAnd she clearly was
\nStronger really just because
\nThe angels loved her
\nThe angels cared
\nAnd that\u2019s the way
\nHer life was spared<\/p>\n
2 months later
\nShe was well
\nFrom being close to death
\nShe had this spell
\nThis recovery
\nThis healing state
\nAnd she joined a pack
\nIn the hill to wait<\/p>\n
And is there still
\nWith new friends she be
\nForaging daily
\nHappily
\nShe isn\u2019t lonely
\nNot any more
\nShe\u2019s fed and watered
