Under some roofing in an old yard
\nA puddle of tar had become really hard
\nAnd trapped in the puddle
\nWere three puppy dogs
\nFrightened and afraid
\nJust little cogs
\nIn the circle of life
\nSpirited they
\nScared out of their wits
\nAt the end of the day<\/p>\n
They just couldn\u2019t move
\nCould\u2019t drink couldn\u2019t eat
\nStuck in this puddle of tar
\nNear the street
\nShowing some valour
\nDetermined to try
\nAnd, remain hopeful
\nThat they would\u2019t die<\/p>\n
A precarious place
\nFor three puppies to be
\nTheir bond of friendship
\nA totality
\nCommunicating
\nIn a doleful way
\nOn the same wave length
\nPerhaps one can say<\/p>\n
Animal aid unlimited came
\nAngels they are
\nAngels by name
\nSet to work calmly
\nTo carry away
\nChunks of this tar
\nOn which each of them lay<\/p>\n
Back at the sanctuary
\nEach washed and washed
\nPatted and loved
\nThe water was sloshed
\nAnd patted and dried
\nAnd then washed again
\nAnd again and again
\nThey could not be denied<\/p>\n
All the care in the world
\nAll the love that they had
\nAnd after many hours
\nThey didn\u2019t look bad
\nAll the tar gone
\nDried and forlorn
\nAnd they had found their mother
\nWho clearly was torn<\/p>\n
To be with them healthy
\nAnd bouncing around
\nGlad that her puppies
\nAnd her all were found
\nDespite their trauma\u2019s
\nDespite their pain
\nThe family was clearly
\nTogether again<\/p>\n
An obvious closeness
\nA tenderness more so than you think
\nBetween victims and angels
\nEach on the brink
\nNo doubt of giving up
\nBut we can see
\nThat with love and with care
\nThat how life should be<\/p>\n
three little puppies
\nPlaying around
\nChasing their tails
\nOn the dusty ground
\nWhat could have been hopeless
\nTurned into joy
\nThanks to the folk
