To be a cottage by the sea
\nIs something I would like to be
\nSo said a mansion that was old
\nWho\u2019 d stood 300 years I\u2019m told
\nLooking out across the moors
\nIt\u2019s many rooms with walnut floors
\nRich and dark and good and hard
\nOften polished often scarred
\nPanelled walls high ceilings where
\nOil paintings of sea scenes were rare
\nTo be a cottage by the sea
\nIs something i would like to be
\nFor a cottage small
\nWhere children scrawl
\nOn floors so soft maybe a loft
\nConverted to a children\u2019s space
\nTowards the ocean it might face
\nAnd rich salt Air might wander there
\nThe sands might too, a palm tree view
\nA Mansion is a proud place and
\nI hope my owners understand
\nI need to find another place
