Somewhere in India
\nUnder the sun
\nA mother is wailing
\nFor a child who is done
\nWith health at this moment
\nApparently he
\nHas damaged his leg
\nAnd it hurts terribly<\/p>\n
The mother is nursing
\nBut she is alone
\nWith her little sick puppy
\nAnd together they groan
\nBy the roadside the jumble
\nOf traffic is nigh
\nBut the mother concedes
\nThat her baby might die<\/p>\n
A shrillness a helping
\nFace on the hot ground
\nSquealing and whining
\nThis kind of sound
\nRises over the traffic
\nAnd gets to the ears
\nOf people it searches
\nThe airwaves for tears<\/p>\n
Just hearing about this
\nTears are in my eyes
\nI can just feel the agony
\nIt\u2019s no surprise
\nThat a doting mother
\nIs there with her child
\nIt\u2019s true they are street dogs
\nAnd incredibly wild<\/p>\n
They have to be, after all
\nSurvival is hard
\nAt the street level
\nYou are on your guard
\nAnd street dogs
\nTheir pecking order is quite low
\nWith so many homeless
\nThat would follow<\/p>\n
\u201cAnimal Rescue\u201d
\nAre now on the scene
\nEach of these souls really
\nGive and have been
\nGiving and loving and helping all day
\nAnimal rescue is showing the way<\/p>\n
A blubbering baby
\nDoes reach into the heart
\nThe wounds are now treated
\nIt will do for a start
\nTaking the baby to hospital where
\nHis wounds will be healed
\nAs will his despair<\/p>\n
This is a story of angels
\nAs well
\nWho pick up their charges
\nThose living with hell
\nOn streets packed with woe
\nPacked with dangers abroad
\nAnd who don\u2019t ask for more
\nThan the victims can afford<\/p>\n
Angels giving time
\ngiving aid, giving care
\nWhen trouble approaches
\nThe angels are there
\nAdministering treatment
\nAnd giving true love
\nThe sort of healing
\nThat comes from above<\/p>\n
