That thought process
\nThat one day grabs you
\nAnd you have to look and see
\nReally what you are doing
\nDoes it feel right actually
\n20 acres 10 fine cows
\n1 bull and some calves too
\nSome have to go to market
\nAnd you cogitate you do
\nParticularly when you watch the BULL
\nFollowing the truck
\nHe sees you take his family
\nAnd really that does suck
\nThe animal is caring
\nHis empathy it shows
\nHe is suffering, to see cows going
\nYes Of horse he knows
\nThey will not be coming back
\nAnd his heart is full of woe
\nAnd he chases and he races
\nAnd he also wants to go.

\nFeel for every single calf that\u2019s born

\nIf you are selling milk to humans
\nThe calves will have to go
\nYou make the stock excuses
\nAnd kidnap the calves the flow
\nOf emotion it is constant
\nreminded by the cow
\nShe will chase the wayward calves

And we in essence take them
\nKidnap them and run
\nAnd she will yes run after them
\nAnd watching her has done

\nand got me thinking
\nThis isn\u2019t reverie
\nIt\u2019s truthfully a broken heart
\nShe suffers tragically
\nUngulates are ruminants
\nThey chew the cud and think
\nPondering and contemplating
\nThey are close to the brink
\nThey do seem to get over it
\nBut actually we feel

\nFor them it\u2019s very real
\neven the few chickens

\nThey wake us in the morning

\nThey greet us and the meet us
\nAnd if they are sick it sends

\nIs send them off to market
\nGet some more another day

\nPut her down sell the meat
\nShe is a soul she\u2019s just
\nReally a family member
\nYou have feelings for her too
\nThe medic man matter of fact
\nBut really clueless to
\nThe real force of the
\nThe argument
\nWhen you suddenly see the light
\nThe bull the cow
\nThe chickens
\nIt\u2019s all there in plain site
\nAll this time the sophistry
\nHad captured out your soul
\nYou were just being parochial
\nIt felt out of your control
\nBut now the cow is moving on
\nTo a sanctuary and she
\nWill make friends with a new set
\nOf animals and we
\nCan visit her from time to time
\nEnjoy her frantic joy
\nRather than sell her flesh

Someone else and another cow
\nWe really have to say
\nWe will grow fruit and vegetables
