The twinkle of fairy lights
\non a pine tree
\nminus its roots
\na shame
\nits a plea
\nof mine, that the growers
\ndo not saw the roots
\nfor what ever reason
\nI see them as brutes<\/p>\n
the trees torn from mother earth
\nminus their roots
\nshoved into a pot
\nto perish, it suits
\nthose growers and householders
\nto watch and smile
\nas Christmas festivities
\nsoon reconcile<\/p>\n
the gradual fading away
\nof the tree
\nwhich is tinselled and baubled
\nand left tragically
\nlit up with multi-phased computer lights
\nEdison I’m sure had them in his sights
\nand there the tree sits
\nfeeling sorry I’m sure
\nit must deal with the heating
\nbut try to ignore<\/p>\n
the great lack of water
\nas it slowly dies
\ndecked out in silver
