Solstice at Stonehenge Sunday 23rd June 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>All The rain had brought such lushness<br \/>\nA realism that<br \/>\nThe sun had worked its magick<br \/>\nAnd we all knew   we were at<br \/>\nStonehenge its that sweet caressing<br \/>\nLight depicting scene<br \/>\nemphasising pigments<br \/>\nYou so know that you have been<\/p>\n<p>wild roses soft and petally<br \/>\nClovers nibbled by<br \/>\nRabbits that come after dark<br \/>\nfor their tonic which is why<br \/>\nCreation laid before us<br \/>\nThe riches of the wild<br \/>\nA wondrous growing medium<br \/>\nTo excite our inner child<\/p>\n<p>The fortuitous arrangement<br \/>\nOf the stones atop the hill<br \/>\nAncient and proportional<br \/>\nA picture that does still<br \/>\nEvoke in mind and body<br \/>\nA true and calm embrace<br \/>\nAffirming all the positives<br \/>\nWith counterpoise and grace<\/p>\n<p>A wealth of gentle pagans<br \/>\nRobed up and ready they<br \/>\nCame together earnestly<br \/>\nFor the ritual of the day<br \/>\nThe purples and magenta&#8217;s<br \/>\nThe white, the gold, the green<br \/>\nAn artistic composition<br \/>\nTo put before the Queen <\/p>\n<p>of<br \/>\nFaeries Mab was somewhere<br \/>\nIn the verdure one just knows<br \/>\nHer dainty feet are bound to  greet<br \/>\nThe fleeting flitting prose<br \/>\nYou could feel a rich ebullience<br \/>\nOf the souls of  myriad charm<br \/>\nInvited from just everywhere<br \/>\nExcitement before the calm<\/p>\n<p>voices sticks a banging<br \/>\nThe Morris troopers they<br \/>\n&#8220;Styx of Stroud&#8221;.<br \/>\nClearly embowed<br \/>\nWith flashes and with sway<br \/>\nMaking our way around the<br \/>\nAncient burial site of old<br \/>\nIn a soft seclusion<br \/>\nIn a circle we could hold<\/p>\n<p>hands, we closed our eyes<br \/>\nAn energising drafts could feel<br \/>\nthe ancients and the modern<br \/>\na kind of neolithic reel<br \/>\nA kaleidescope of colours<br \/>\nEntrenched in modern day<br \/>\nGiving space to subsequence<br \/>\nQuietly we did pay<\/p>\n<p>Respects to the ancestors<br \/>\nWhere Youth and age create<br \/>\nA miasmic revelation<br \/>\nAnd a providential state<br \/>\nThe Holly King young  (Simon) and  the Oak<br \/>\nKing (Andy)did battle for a time<br \/>\nThey talked themselves into the fight<br \/>\nIt was well pitched and did climb<\/p>\n<p>Into quite a battle royal with the great OAK<br \/>\nBeaten, he<br \/>\nMade the fight exciting though for<br \/>\nall of us to be<br \/>\nPart of it a throwback to ancient times<br \/>\nWhere we<br \/>\nCreated this re-enactment<br \/>\nIn a ghostly reverie<\/p>\n<p>\u201cStyx of Stroud\u201dladies gents<br \/>\nFeathers and ribbons,  they<br \/>\nEbony and  verdant flashes<br \/>\nThe order of their day<br \/>\nSwishing wishing melodies<br \/>\nDance and trance and we<br \/>\nRealised their energy<br \/>\nWith a chance to also free<\/p>\n<p>Ourselves from all the stresses<br \/>\nThat occupy the world<br \/>\nCaught up in a kinetic sense<br \/>\nWhere outside it all we are hurled<br \/>\nIts  like a tourist heaven<br \/>\nMany nations come<br \/>\nTelescopic lenses drawn<br \/>\nTo The Whistle and the  drum<\/p>\n<p>Following transmission<br \/>\nOne and all aware<br \/>\nMelodic and so colourful<br \/>\nJust so many people there<br \/>\nAnd to be one of the Druids<br \/>\nRobed up and on our way<br \/>\nTo our ritual amongst the sacred stones<br \/>\nOn this warm summers day<\/p>\n<p>With all the verve and splendour<br \/>\nCajoled into the stream<br \/>\nOf consciousness arising<br \/>\nRe-living the dream<br \/>\nThe ritual of the initiates<br \/>\nSome from far away<br \/>\nWanting to join our merry band<br \/>\nAnd help to swell our day.<\/p>\n<p>They all went through<br \/>\nThe  arch druid&#8217;s soft repose<br \/>\nWe all recall those feelings<br \/>\nThat tingle in the toes<br \/>\nFrom kneeling and from<br \/>\nCrossing the rope that helped us see<br \/>\nThe conversion from a watcher<br \/>\nInto  living alchemy<\/p>\n<p>We also were then party<br \/>\nTo A renewal of vows<br \/>\nA permanence of spirit<br \/>\nThat destiny endows<br \/>\nCare and real togetherness<br \/>\nAnd the sharing From above<br \/>\nIn a Neolithic space and time<br \/>\nThe emphasis of Love<\/p>\n<p>A blessing and the morsals<br \/>\nThe honied mead so sweet<br \/>\nits all about polarities<br \/>\nAnd the pressure on our feet<br \/>\nOn such hallowed ground<br \/>\nWhere ancients have walked<br \/>\nAnd shared as we<br \/>\nWork our circle magick<br \/>\nIn our shared ubiquity<\/p>\n<p>The Bard he read his poem<br \/>\nIn front  the dolmen tall<br \/>\nRagged from their great age<br \/>\nWhat if they should fall?<br \/>\nAgainst a bluish sky<br \/>\nfeeling disablement a pain<br \/>\nAnd a tear rolled slowly down his cheek<br \/>\nIn a lasting refrain<\/p>\n<p>Onto the opportunity<br \/>\nFor each of the players to<br \/>\nIntroduce themselves and give account<br \/>\nFor what they do<br \/>\nThe speaking stick involvement<br \/>\nIn the ritual we all share<br \/>\nPlayers in the sun light<br \/>\nHeard by all stood there<\/p>\n<p>Time it waits for no one<br \/>\nAnd our ritual at an end<br \/>\nWe left the neolithic<br \/>\nAnd to music did defend<br \/>\nOur right to be a procession<br \/>\nIn our robed attire<br \/>\nTo the beat of drum and whistle<br \/>\nAn accordian, the fire<br \/>\nThe spirit the vivacity<br \/>\nThe reverie of soul<br
