Our thinking is beyond us
\nThe risks that some will take
\nBecause it helps their balance sheet
\nAnd they also like their cake
\nTheir head is full of matter
\nNot in essence grey
\nOr even green remember
\nWhat it is that rules their day
\nTheir bank account their flashy car
\nTheir big house in the street
\nThinking little of the jungles
\nAnd the poorer who compete
\nWith them and share the oxygen
\nThe water and the sun
\nAnd do their bit in their own way
\nWhen each day is done<\/p>\n
for those who live in cities
\nThere are others that live elsewhere
\nIn the forests and near the oceans
\nWho perhaps are more aware
\nOf the onslaught from the cities
\nAnd the need for wood and sand
\nOf the need to create plastic
\nAnd who fail to understand
\nWe all need the security
\nThe planet needs it too
\nAnd cutting down rainforests
\nIs a madness but its true
\nPeople live and die there
\nThe lungs work overtime
\nCities of glass and concrete
\nReally can only climb<\/p>\n
If we have lungs to breathe away
\nThe carbon that we create
\nThe excesses we are building
\nAt an alarming rate
\nWe must realise environments
\nNeed preserving everywhere
\nAnd habitat loss is criminal
\nLeading to despair
\nRespect and sharing is essential
\nEverywhere we go
\nAnimals plant life of course trees
\nWhat Nature wants to grow
\nProtect the soil and oxygen
\nA finite source and we
\nWherever we live whatever we do
\nThis factor we must see<\/p>\n
The Caru are indigenous people
\nThey live out in Brazil
\nAmong the glorious hardwoods
\nAnd plant life that is still
\nBeing logged a plenty
\nRaped of its resource
\nBy illegal criminality
\nWhich is a damaging force
\nThey are losing their freedoms
\nThey are losing their way
\nMangroves being torn up
\nCoasts in dissarray
\nAnimals are being slaughtered
\nAt an alarming rate
\nThe planet it is reeling
\nAnd all this isnt great<\/p>\n
The oceans are our dustbins
\nSo much plastic everywhere
\nThe cetaceans all are suffering
\nAnd it drives me spare
\nHow ignorant so many of us are
\nAnd arrogant too
\nWe abuse the planet and its kind
\nAnd Some do not have a clue
\nHow to respect our mother
\nHow to retain our trees
\nThey are marvellous for the planet
\nFor the soil and for the ease
\nIn which they provide oxygen
\nAnd environments for all
\nThe insects birds and mammals
\nHow they over haul
\nPoisons in the environment
\nTheir equilibrium can
\nAssist and yes re kindle
\nWhat is the plight of man<\/p>\n
Take the Caru for instance
\nFighting to save their space
\nLoggers coming to ruin them
\nJust spit in their face
\nTear down trees a plenty
\nPut in cows to graze
\nThe meat trade is the murder trade
\nIts size should not amaze
\nWe must safeguard our planet
\nEvery facet every space
\nWe must protect the Indigenous peoples
\nAnd the animals keeping pace
\nWe all learn from each other
\nWe all share life on earth
\nWe all breathe the oxygen
\nAnd thats indeed their worth<\/p>\n
THe Caru are on their front line
\nBeing shot at by
\nLoggers hard faced criminals
\nOut to steal their pie
\nThey have homes in cities
\nOr elsewhere far away
\nAnd they come to plunder
\nShared resources
\nAnd in the end all pay
\nWe must stand with the Caru
\nAnd all the tribes who give
\nActually they struggle
\nIn the places where they live
\nBut they really work their socks off
\nProtecting the planet they
\nKnow and care and living there
\nThey help in every way<\/p>\n
Taking very little and giving
\nVery much
\nNot out to pull a fast one
\nJust to stay in touch
\nWith their own reality
\nTheir understanding they
\nKnow the forest know the ocean
\nAnd know that we all pay
\nSome of us are greedy
\nWe dont really care
\nWe are strong and mighty
\nWith big houses everywhere
\nWe can saw down trees all day
\nAnd MINE the earth until
\nAll the water is filthy
\nAnd then perhaps we will<\/p>\n
Think about ourselves
\nWhat we can stockpile and can steal
\nWe wont worry about the tribes
\nNot them how they feel
\nGreed and selfish that is us
\nStealing everywhere
\nAbusing every which way
\nAnd feeling we are fair
\nThe CARU are just one voice
\nBut we must listen for they
\nAre suffering and we all will
\nAll of us will pay
\nThe piper and he is coming
\nCloser than you think
\nAs we muddy all our waters
\nMore and more are on the brink<\/p>\n
Lets realise the CARU
\nLets help them make their stand
\nFor in essence they are doing it
\nFor us all on this fair land
\nBut they are up against it
\nTheir purity is they
\nAre quick to catch diseases
\nTherefore quick to pay
\nFor being in their forests
\nWith the animals who do
\nGive back more than they take
\nWhich does not describe me or you<\/p>\n
