Oblivion beckoned

\nIn anticipation
\nThat we could succeed

It was all symbolism

\nPurdah galore
\nMisinformation
\nThe cultural store
\nEmphatic denial
\nNegative force
\nAbuse at its worst

Mendacious behaviour
\nDeception all through
\nToo many imposters
\nThe fraudulent few
\nCollusion and cozenage
\nLegerdemain
\nLies every which way
\nAnd just so much pain<\/p>\n
Fanaticism unyielding
\nAnd they
\nThe bull fighting moguls
\nHard nosed a way
\nUncompromising a bigoted bunch
\nWilfully mulish
\nwhen it came to the crunch<\/p>\n
A force of habit
\nAn addiction maybe
\nTo the pain that is Spain
\nIn its title we see
\nRitual observance
\nA hardening too
\nBred in their bones
\nIt all seemed so true<\/p>\n
But now there’s a plan
\nThere’s a point
\nand indeed there’s a sign
\nWe have a new author
\nWhose head’s on the line

\nA fresh light in the sky
\nAbuse and cruelty

We are moving on
\nWe have skills afterall

Our wealth and our affluence

We can open our purses
