A petition has been started
\nFrom a Norfolk school where they
\nWere encouraged to visit the Sandringham Estate
\nTo see the dogs that play
\nA part in retrieving dead birds
\nShot by shooters who
\nAre An integral part of the countryside
\nBut I am not sure if that\u2019s true<\/p>\n
Any way it\u2019s subjective
\nBlood sports seemingly
\nLying in wait with rifles cocked
\nAnd shooting birds that be
\nFor me that\u2019s not exciting
\nAnd Lasting impressions no doubt they
\nOf wild birds shot out of the sky
\nOn any given day<\/p>\n
Parents should be made aware
\nThat that This is the essence here
\nand see if they agree with it
\nIt has to be made clear
\n\u201cA trip to the Sandringham Estate\u201d
\nThat was the invite they
\nGot but looking closer
\nYou can sense there is dismay<\/p>\n
It\u2019s coming via the Country Trust
\nAnd the Education here
\nA charity that works with the least able
\nSo It\u2019s clear
\nIt\u2019s giving an opportunity
\nFor children to engage
\nTo learn about the countryside
\nWhich is kind of off the page<\/p>\n
They organise the outing
\nA charitable event
\nTo educate the children
\nOutside time when spent
\nLearning about nature
\nWalking in the air
\nLearning about trees and things
\nLearning to be aware<\/p>\n
I have signed the petition
\nAnd others will I am sure
\nGood for the children who
\nRealise lives matter, and to ignore
\nWildness in our countryside
\nIs mean I have to say
\nAnd killing birds is very sad
\nThere must be another way<\/p>\n
To everyone who signs here
\nThe message loud and clear
\nBlood sports are past their sell by date<\/p>\n
I say this because I fear<\/p>\n
Too many grown ups are hunting and killing
\nToo many of our wild brethren and they need
\nTo perhaps slow down and observe, photograph
