Unpreparedness and unconcern
\nA casualness and need to learn
\nNeglectful mothballed overlooked
\nWhen the books have all been cooked
\nCamps now holding animals who
\nAre treated slovenly and who do
\nSuffer terribly obviously
\nPoor nutrition and constancy<\/p>\n
Tortured really everyday
\nNot enough water or food
\nDelay
\nIn cleaning snd caring
\nAnd helping them be
\nAble to manage life admirably<\/p>\n
The coats matted awfully
\nMange everywhere
\nParasite paradise
\nNeurological despair
\nInadequate shelter
\nAll that we see
\nIs things left undone
\nIgnoringly<\/p>\n
and the animals suffering
\nLamenting all day
\nNo veterinaries
\nComing their way
\nDirty and slovenly
\nOffhandedness
\nSlipshod and slapdash
\nAnd just utter stress<\/p>\n
Lions there unable to walk
\nClearly they
\nAre sick every part of them
\nRotting away
\nIts an ugly and horrible sight
\nFor sore eyes
\nTo see animals like this
\nAnd such a surprise<\/p>\n
That they are left like this
\nNo duty of care
\nThe big cats are suffering
\nThey are aware
\nBut carers unwilling
\nObjecting maybe
\nReluctant and begrudging
\nAs we can all see<\/p>\n
They need a good hiding
\nSome prison time they
\nAre bigots their pigheaded
\nIgnorant way
\nAllow what we see to be happening
\nThere
\nAnimals suffering
\nBecause lack of care<\/p>\n
They are locked in their cages
\nWhat can they do
\nUnatended all day
\nDeserted all through
\nPigeonholed cold shouldered
\nThats what you do
\nTo the wild hearts and minds
\nAnd thats not the few<\/p>\n
Its discrimination
\nIts just everywhere
\nThey get no relief
\nNobody to share
\nJust a failure to act
\nTo let things just slide
\nIdleness indolence
\nThen its denied<\/p>\n
Look at the Lions
\nParasites they
\nAre obviously itchy and scratching away
\nTheir skin and their fur
\nIts hard not to cry
\nWhen the obvious hits you
\nRight in the eye<\/p>\n
The other cats all of them
\nSuffering so
\nSome are obese
\nWith no where to go
\nLife is a gridlock
\nA stupor a trance
\nTired all the time
\nNothing left to chance<\/p>\n
No kindness anywhere
\nNothing at all
\nHumanity leaves them
\nCannot hear their call
\nNo civic ideals
\nNo community here
\nNo conscience to speak of
\nJust more and more fear<\/p>\n
And they all look so pained
\nA child would sgree
\nWe give them such mischief
\nWho wouldnt be
\nUoset at their state
\nAnd wanting to cry
\nAnd the lack of pity
