Its been around since time
\nBegan
\nIndigenous they say
\nIt used to be called
\nThe culfrewort or pigeon plant
\nits way appears to me
\nEnjoying of the ancient climes
\nSteeped in mystery<\/p>\n
Its kind of in abundance
\nIn my garden I can say
\nIt seems its carried on the breeze
\nMidsummer sees it play
\nInto the hearts of many
\nWith its so attractive flowers
\nPod like fruits adorn its stems
\nto fall in sprinkling showers<\/p>\n
If you do look closely
\nIt resembles clustering birds
\nWhich is why its known as columbine
\nA dove in so many words
\nMyriads of doves heads
\nOr eagles claws some say
\nTney grow out in the deserts
\nOf Africa and pay<\/p>\n
The Lion some thought apparently
\nDrawn to its sweet acclaim
\nIn woods it likes to shelter
\nA deep rich purple flame
\nSometime white like fallen snow
\nThe poet Spenser long ago

\nTo a damsel whose fair neck
\nHad Took on its glow<\/p>\n
It stands for grief
\nSo I have been told
\nAnd desertion negatively
\nFive carpels grouped together
\nWhich upon maturity
\nExposes shiny black seeds
\nMedicinally they
\nCan be used for sore throats
\nAs fruit forms go
\nIt may<\/p>\n
Once established in a garden
\nMay continually arise
\nIts different shades of petalling
\nMay happen
\nI surmise
\nThe fae are often there abouts
\nBestowing love and care
\nIt falleth from the carpels
\nAnd it floweth through the air<\/p>\n
Springing up around the garden
\nAlmost anywhere
\nIt enjoys a spot of shade
\nAnd like a maiden fair
\nIt tripeth in its dancing way
\nGently with the light
\nBlue and yellow and sometimes
