The ungratefulness of a being
\nUnbeholden in a way
\nTo the preciousness of wildness
\nWhere the guilty hold full sway
\nThe unfeeling the impassive
\nEach rancorous display
\nOf stealth infact the evil eye
\nThat forces some to say<\/p>\n
All the worst intentions
\nTo wreak ones spite and be
\nDealing in young animals
\nThe wild ones who sadly
\nAre stolen from their mothers
\nAnd gracelessly perform
\nAn in elegance of spirit
\nA blemish in the storm
\nOf uncertainty and reason
\nThe pet trade was the thing
\nThe painfulness of the lack of care
\nAnd all that that does bring<\/p>\n
For lion cubs found in Paris
\nSentient spirited souls
\nStolen from their mother
\nAnd allocated roles
\nAs let\u2019s for wayward families
\nAwestruck by their size
\nSubjected to enslavement
\nJust look into their eyes<\/p>\n
Wide open seeing little
\nFeeling so much more
\nMissing their dear mother
\nKept inside a door
\nOn a bed believe me
\nMore a trophy or a toy
\nThan a living breathing
\nJungle king expressly born
\nWith joy<\/p>\n
Fed on scraps and sweeties
\nNutritionally unsound
\nUnstudied and neglected
\nThey were clearly bound
\nFor hospitalisation
\nFor sickness and maybe
\nFor death to come a knocking
\nFrom their inability<\/p>\n
To serve the greater good
\nAnd solve the mysteries of life
\nTalentless and unendowed
\nAll they get is strife
\nRapid deterioration
\nWithout remedy or care
\nMisteaching and direction
\nAnd being unaware<\/p>\n
Ignorance is out there
\nUnfamiliarity
\nUninstructed uninformed
\nTotal incapacity
\nTo understand their whereabouts
\nWithout true harmony
\nThe sights and sounds
\nOf city life
\nThe stench of our humanity<\/p>\n
All four little animals
\nFrightened in their soul
\nTheir relationship with their mother
\nA non existent goal
\nBeing inside a small flat
\nArtificiality
\nClearly very far removed
\nFrom the wild desirability<\/p>\n
A terrible start
\nfor their young lives
\nTheir animality
\nStricken from their purpose
\nFrom them nutritionally
\nThankfully discovered
\nAnd saved remarkably<\/p>\n
Born free became a surrogate
\nA pathway to the whole
\nMatriarchal miracle
\nThe reproduction role
\nWilling to regard them
\nAnd suggest ancestrally
\nA refuge back in Africa
\nAt Shamwari sanctuary<\/p>\n
The need is now to help them
\nTo donate for all our worth
\nGet them back to living
\nGet their feet back on the earth
\nBack to calmness and composure
\nTo a characterful refrain
\nLet them feel the state of wonder
\nOn this earth again.<\/p>\n
