One man’s best friend
\nWas an Akita dog
\nFrom Akita in Japan
\nA professor of agriculture
\nIt had always been his plan
\nTo try to adopt an Akita dog
\nAnd one of his students said
\nThere was a dog in Odati City
\nSo it all came to a head<\/p>\n
He went and found the animal
\nAnd the two of them became
\nThe greatest friends imaginable
\nLike a son, the same
\nThe dog was his companion
\nEverywhere he’d go
\nThe dog was clearly anxious
\nWanting to follow <\/p>\n
Each day they went to the railway
\nStation to the SHIBUYA
\nWent with him and then met him
\nAnd became a star
\nEverybody knew him
\nSaw him everyday
\nLooking after his master
\nIn every single way<\/p>\n
An amazing bond developed
\nBetween a professor and his dog
\nSometimes he walked quite slowly
\nAnd sometimes they would jog
\nBoth clearly loved each other
\nWith a fondness all could feel
\nA closeness and a caring stance
\nThat was so very real.<\/p>\n
Hidesburo lived close to SHIBUYA train
\nStation
\nAnd every day
\nthe dog would accompany
\nHis master to the train
\nAnd they would say<\/p>\n
See you later at 4 0clock
\nAnd once again they would
\nAnd When the professor came back each day
\nThe dog would be waiting
\nAnd both of them felt good<\/p>\n
One day on the 25 th of May
\nWaiting As normal he
\nThe professor didnt come back
\nHe had died at work you see
\nHAchiko missed him terribly
\nAnd every day he still
\nWent to the station
\nTo pick him up
\nFor ten whole years
\nThe thrill<\/p>\n
Was there, that his dear friend
\nWould, one day return
\nBut despite his regular
\nStint each day
\nAnd his deep concern
\nHe never came
\nAnd on the 8 th march
\nTen years after
\nHAchiko died
\nAnd a bronze statue
\nIs waiting at the station just
\nInside<\/p>\n
Hachiko is still hoping
\nStill waiting maybe so
\nAnd he has become so famous
\nIn Japan for most people know<\/p>\n
