The distant hills
\nappeared alive with thunder
\nDeafening like
\ngreat drums in the sky
\nWe hadn’t seen the lightening
\nbut we felt a storm was imminent
\nBut up to to now
\nthe last few weeks were dry<\/p>\n

We threaded our way
\nover to the Seaman Place,
\na farm with cows and sheep
\nand chickens, we
\nDecided to go that way and bag ourselves some dinner,
\nThey had a dog of sorts
\nbut honestly.<\/p>\n

They kept him chained up
\nby the gate and we knew
\nHe’d bark and growl
\nbut that’s about all he
\nWould do and so we got down through the corn field
\nand got into the chicken house, to see
\na 100 or so squawking cocks
\nwere present, a few
\nold hens,
\nwhich Lone and I devoured
\nWe knew that Seamen’s sons
\ncould use their rifles
\nAnd rather than risk an injury
\nwe powered
\ndown the yard and out across the meadow
\nBy the time Old seaman raised his butt
\nWe were in the forest several miles away
\nBut could still hear the yelping from their mutt.<\/p>\n

It wasn’t all that wise to steal the chickens
\nAnd mean’t old Seaman had it in for us
\nBut wolves do question why the human family
\nBuild farms on land that’s wild and then do cuss
\nWe after all are wild we live on wild lands
\nwe have to eat and drink and find our way
\nWith the white men more and more of them establishing their homes here
\nWe know the pressure rises by the day
\nIn the forest we caught Rabbits but our quest today
\nWas to find ourselves an Elk maybe a Deer
\nWe had to get some real meat in our stomachs
\nAnd that’s of course another thing around here<\/p>\n

Hunters from the towns come with their 4 by 4’s, their camouflage their rifles and their bows
\nA lot of wolves have met their end, and trappers they are not our friend
\nRunning into one of them can purposefully send
\nAny soul into the great big spirit world
\nFor the trappers want our pelts ours are thick
\nWe do have to be watchful of the Trappers
\nand the Hunters, and the farmers and just stick<\/p>\n

As far away from all of them as possible
\nUp around Lakota land is best
\nBut this area is only small and 20 wolves there as a rule
\nIt is becoming too much of a test.<\/p>\n

So Lone and I decided we would leave the cave
\nand start out for the forest far away
\nWhere Bears and Boars were happily
\nLiving side by side, and we
\nCould set up home together so to say
\nThat place was full of caves and caverns
\nGreat gnarled trees and fallen rocks
\nWe knew we’d find another place
\nAnd on a lake there, there were flocks
\nOf geese and ducks and water fowl
\na haven for us boys
\nLooking skyward at this sight
\nwas one of the wolves joys.<\/p>\n

Wolves everywhere are suffering
\nLoss of Habitat
\nThe Human creed want to succeed
\nThey build and well, that’s that
\nWe have to clear off pretty fast
\nOr face the wrath of man
\nWith his fire sticks and his powerful bows
\nAnd his selfish one stroke plan<\/p>\n

So we ran for miles 3 days 3 nights
\nand reached the forest where
\nWe’d hope to find a safe warm cave
\nand put our roots down there
\nAnd sure enough we found it, quite high
\nwhich was good
\nAnd was facing south
\nSo at its mouth
\nWe had sunshine and we could
\nSit, well just inside the cave
\nand still feel the suns rays
\nFar Infra red to it we’re wed
\nFor its energy then plays<\/p>\n

Into our real make up
\nOur positivity
\nAnd since we’ve been here
\nWe’ve eaten well
\nIts was the place to be
\nBut men come with their
\nSteam Trains
\nGreat wheels that whistle long
\nThey drive on great steel tracks
\nAnd there is such a throng<\/p>\n

Of people, coming fast towards
\nour wild lands possibly
\nThey will see the sense
\nOf creating l permanency
\na wild life park a huge reserve
\nwhere me and lone can be
\nrunning with our pack
\nThe pack they call the bold Nari<\/p>\n

Nari of course Iran in reverse
