Its a pretty frustrating
\nexistence today
\narborial apes don’t
\nget all there own way
\nfor corporate interests
\nand the palm oil brigade
\nare chopping our trees down
\nand really that’s laid
\nwaste to the places
\nthat we like to be
\nup in the glorious
\nhigh canopy
\nswinging around
\nenjoying the day
\nbut life’s pretty hard
\nnow I have to say<\/p>\n

of course Birate Galdikas
\nis a good friend
\nshe cares
\nand loves us
\nand of course
\nshe does lend
\nall of her
\nwaking hours
\nto what we do
\nhow we fare
\nsuch a soul
\nis just
\nwonderful
\nfew
\npeople devote
\ntheir lives
\nto a cause
\nbut this women
\ntruthfully
\njust doesn’t pause
\nshe’s there for us
\nhelping to educate those
\npalm oil creators
\nand I suppose<\/p>\n

she has made
\nsignificant changes
\nand we
\nlove her
\njust love her
\nunconditionally
\nbut the forests are going
\nsome 50%
\nhave been turned into palm oil
\nMalaysia just went
\nmad for the stuff
\nthe corporates too
\nfound something
\nthat increased their profits
\na few<\/p>\n

made a killing
\nand orangutans, yes have died
\nor been caught up in plans
\nand many have lied
\nthey raze to the ground
\nthey log, slash and burn
\nwhich fills all of us
\nwith tremendous concern
\nfor our future
\nour families
\nwhat are we to do
\nhabitat loss
\nand transferred to some zoo
\nwe wild souls remember
\nthe need to be left
\nto remain in the forest
\nand not be bereft
\nof our trees, of the vines
\nof the fruits and to be
\nsharing the planet too
