The Mexican Wolf
\nknows how to suffer
\nlife and its habitat
\nkind of gets tougher
\nand nothing to do
\nwith what really was right
\nit was down to the corporates
\njoining the fight
\nthe government too
\ngot its nose in the trough
\nturning a blind eye
\nand seeing them off
\nthe Mexican Wolf
\nwas as wild as could be
\nbut was soon shot and killed
\nfarmers earned
\neasily
\nat the end of a barrel
\nthe wolf often found
\nthat that was his lot
\nand he died on the ground
\nmassacred daily
\nnot given a chance
\nprotecting the cattle
\nhis death did enhance
\nthe farmers entitlement
\nfor what they earned
\njust as long as the
\nwolf was bloody well burned
\nThe Mexican Wolf
\ntook a hammering, well
\nit fell by the wayside
\nand hunters from Hell
\nwere seen to be going
\naround every day
\nkilling whole packs
\nand making them pay
\nre introducing them
\njust wasn’t backed
\nthe farmers were powerful
\nand they could attract
\npositive payments
\npoliticians soon saw
\nviolations continued
\nwhich most did ignore
\nendangered species
\nman made them, that
\nand the greed still continues
\nfor that’s where we’re at
\nfew now stick up for the voiceless alas
\nthere’s no money to make
\nand where is the ass
\nprepared to forgo the
\ncash in the hand
\nthe wolves have now vanished
\nfrom all round the land
\nunless we get on the case
\nthe ranchers will
\nflood the wild habitat
\nand they will kill
\nevery last wild soul
\nthat ply’s the wild lands
\nthat’s what they’re doing
\nits in our own hands
\nIts just no good crying
\nwhen the wolves are dead
\nand cattle are everywhere
\nwe’re being led
\nshouting and screaming
\nto the corporate site
\nwhere wild lands are
\nlost
