\nSomething to do
\nRun down worn out they
\nA family thought it
\nA good idea
\nHoping it could pay
\nAn inspirational speaker

Zoo’s come into conflict
\nWith animals rights for sure
\nThe philosopy of existence
\nIts just inside the door
\nUndeniably wild animals
\nLocked up everyday
\nEnduring our captivity
\nAll along the way<\/p>\n
Taken from their birthplace
\nAnd brought to England shores
\nTo Dartmouth not a game park
\nBut a zoo to no applause
\nIn effect they saved the animals
\nThe will was clearly there
\nDespite so little money
\nThe family were aware<\/p>\n
For me its hard to quantify
\nWild souls under lock and key
\nCompared to where creation placed them
\nTo fine their identity
\nAs big cats or as other creatures
\nHow surely can we say
\nBy reducing down wild habitats
\nThat we can provide a way<\/p>\n
So they bought an ailing business
\nWhich happens to be a zoo
\n20th century made a film
\nAbout them and what they do
\nMatt Damon gave his light and verve
\nAnd their story did unfold
\nCommanding a position
\nWorth its weight in gold<\/p>\n
We feel all that tenacity
\nThe connectedness of soul
\nThe man is clearly in it
\nTo be trying
\nAnd his role
\nIs embracing thought and candour
\nIs trying to do it right
\nAdding his own integrity
\nAnd hoping to invite<\/p>\n
Fresh ideas and understanding
\nAnd a slice of harmony
\nHoping to bring order
\nAnd his methodology
\nInto what is being seen
\nAs eccentricity
\nUnnatural and aberrant
\nAn intrusion into certainty<\/p>\n
Surpassing and transcending
\nAn animals actual space
\nIt seems to be the question
\nIts something we must face
\nWrong headed and unseeing
\nPrejudging maybe so
\nCome to the wrong conclusion
\nAs to whether we all know<\/p>\n
Right from wrong
\nAnd the inappreciation
\nOf it all
\nCompetitiveness with visitors
\nWho are there to call
\nOut the power and wisdom
\nOf the big cats in their prime
\nForced to take on those who feel
\nThe need to try to climb<\/p>\n
To compete against the wildness
\nAs visitors who pay

\nTo try and pull a way
\nTo be ardent snd be powerful
\nTo take on the big cats who
\nAre kings of the jungle
\nIn everything they do<\/p>\n
To me despite the footprint
\nThe honorary regard
\nThe story around all of this
\nAnd really how hard
\nIt has been for the family
\nI have to say that I
\nAm disinclined to accept
\nThe need
