The sun has got his hat on
\nand he’s shining in my face
\nlooking at him
\nreally, my eyes
\nknow that this space
\ncannot be shared
\nfor his huge smile
\nblinds me
\nI can’t see
\nthe forest or
\nthe undergrowth
\nor the tree in front of me.<\/p>\n
above the clouds are rolling
\nacross a sky of blue
\nthe trees are bobbing back and forth
\nthe odd leaf what to do
\nclinging on for dear life
\nthe majority have flown
\nits funny how always a few
\nare able to atone
\nand somehow grasp the metal
\nand, remain forthright
\non form
\na bit like human beings
\na’sailing in a storm<\/p>\n
greens of every hue abound
\nthe Jasmine’s lighter vein
\nthe Rosemary much darker
\nthe Cherry none dare claim
\nits leaves are brown and withered
\nthe wet fermented look
\nthe bracken and the holly
\nhave clearly shook and shook
\nnot many berries left alas
\nfor wreaths or Christmas pud
\nbut everywhere the sunbeams fall
\nthe soil looks pretty good
\ntousled heads of Allium
\nand Lemon balm so dry
\nseed heads rolling whilst
\nunlocking seeds
\nthat now might fly
\ninto the weeded tangle
\nwhere wildness overflows
\nto the rich and humid litter
