Snowflakes wet and beautiful
\nFlower like,fall away
\nThe festival of Imbolc
\nIt be Brigids day
\nPatron of the flocks of sheep
\nAnd little lambs that play
\nLactating ewes spread the good news
\nOn this 2nd day<\/p>\n
She be venerated in the morning light
\nHealing wells and wondrous springs
\nIts about their joyful flight
\nIts all those sweet gyrations who
\nSail down from the sky
\nThat hear the bleating lambs of Light
\nWho in the coolness ply<\/p>\n
A patron of the druids and Bards
\nShe cleared to be
\nSharing her eternal aura
\nAnd the sacred fire we see
\nWho has negotiated wisely
\nStepped out and let us be
\nKeeping up her standards
\nOn the gold strand sands we see<\/p>\n
In milk the sheep regarded
\nTheir richness apparently
\nPerpetual and undying
\nImmortal spirits flee
\nThe milk of the mother
\nFor her dying son
\nMan has done his imaging
\nHis science as if spun<\/p>\n
Imbolc marks the midway
\nFrom the dark point of the year
\nIt also says the ewes are in milk
\nThe invigoration clear
\nSoon comes the first ploughings
\nWhen the snowdrops smile and spread
\nTheir ermine splendour skywards
\nSeeing daffodile now thread<\/p>\n
Their way out of the ice and snow
\nKnowing the chill of old
\nSuffering the wintry winds
\nThat rupture those so bold
\nAnd to sound their trumpets earlier
\nAs the light now comes to bear
\nAs the Brigid crosses made of reed
\nFriends having made to share<\/p>\n
The great sun takes to shining
\nAnd the earth begins to warm
\nA bowl of steaming oAt groats
\nFrighten off a storm
\nSome of the reeds left on the step
\nMay receive a blessing she
\nThats Brigid who may have passed at night
\nWith her love and care will be<\/p>\n
Porter cake with raisins
\nAnd lots of candied peel
\nRowan its the celtic tree
\nYour inner peace reveal
\nIt will uplift the spirit
\nAnd influence the soul
\nThe enchantress of the Rowan tree
