Some Animals hardly have any rights
\nOther than to work and surely die
\nIn Africa more especially In Zimbabwe
\nIt is high
\nTime that the poor old donkeys
\nGot a thought or two
\nThey are beaten up and badgered
\nWorking hard for all they do<\/p>\n
Human beings tragically
\nAll corrupted very well
\nEverywhere its viperous
\nWe do possess a hell
\nOn earth and fall into it
\nTaking animals with us they
\nSuffer really terribly
\nIn the cold light of each day<\/p>\n
The donkeys as I said
\nAre abused they carry
\nHeavy loads for little
\nEvery day
\nPeople do not value them
\nThey are taken for granted
\nBecause they try to please
\nThey are made to pay<\/p>\n
Bribery and corruption
\nIt is everywhere
\nOfficialdom and soldiers
\nSmugglers rogues they all
\nAre in the pit together
\nAnd animals ofcourse suffer
\nHauling contraband
\nAlways on call<\/p>\n
South African farmers
\nUse them to feed canned lions
\nTheir hides exported to China
\nFor Ejiao
\nThe plight of donkeys
\nTruly is impossible
\nCursed tortured and murdered
\nWhich is how<\/p>\n
A being such as peaceful
\nAs the donkey
\nCreated by a miracle some say
\nIs suffering the vagaries of teror
\nGoodness and mercy seems so far away
\nIts very nature calls for our benevolence
\nIt tolerates our angst and venom we
\nAre ferociously unfair to all the donkeys
\nWho live and die in actual purgatory<\/p>\n
In Africa so many smuggling syndicates
\nAbuse the donkeys every single day
\nCarrying their cargo over terrible terrain
\nAnd rewarded with a beating many say
\nAbused by each and every soul imaginable
\nHardly any friends for them to see
\nCompassion clearly it just never reaches them
\nAnd writing of their lives so saddens me<\/p>\n
Non hostile and amicable and friendly
\nFaithful staunch and wonderful they be
\nWell meaning and born of a humble spirit
\nLowly meek and innocent we see
\nUnprotesting servile and unassuming
\nBorn of expectation and of hope
\nBut dealing with so many cynical beings
\nMost of whom should be hanging off a rope
\nI fail to see where karma is as donkeys
\nIn Africa get short shrift everywhere
\nWeariness and oppression
\nIts the human obsession
