\nAnd so they
\ntwo young women
\nAgreed to join up and
\nTravel off to Salt Creek
\nTwo hours outside Adelaide
\nThat day<\/p>\n
A wilderness these backpackers
\nOn a journey just to see
\nThe sea and dunes
\nThe natural world of splendour
\nAnd must be
\nThe Coorong Prince highway
\nAnd both agreed to go
\nAnd now were passengers
\nIn the car of a man they didnt know<\/p>\n
Their advsrtisement on Gumtree
\nIf someone could give them a lift
\nAnd a certain Roman Hine
\nSaid he was free
\nDo you get the drift
\nOne girl came from Sao Paolo
\nThe other from Germany
\nA holiday of a lifetime
\nWas the plan
\nOn the 9th of February 2016
\nThey met the guy
\nA 59’year old man<\/p>\n
Unbeknowing to the girls
\nA lady one Sylvia Clark
\nHis lady friend He had raped
\nAnd left his bloody mark
\nAll over her so many bruises

\nSaw the girls

All that pent up perverseness
\nso he picked the two girls up
\nAnd drove them for two hours
\nAway and out of Adelaide
\nIt all seemed within his powers
\nOf reasoning he told them

\nAnd both were tired
\nBoth harbouring some fear<\/p>\n
It was awfully isolated

\nA wilderness of wonder
\nAnd they were wondering why
\nHe stopped there of all places
\nWith nothing much to do
\nAnd they began to feel frightened
\nBut glad that they were two<\/p>\n
He was clearly masquerading
\nAs a helpful soul
\nBut had brought along two hammers and a knife
\nAnd it seemed his goal
\nWas to actually rape and murder them
\nAnd bury them somewhere
\nWhere nobody would find them
\nWhich would add to their despair<\/p>\n

\nwas in their psyche
\nThey mentioned it before
\nLeaving and in the thick of it
\nTheir inner fear was raw
\nAlana had been sleeping out there in the car
\nBut Beatriz she was closer to Roman
\nnot that far<\/p>\n
Lets go out where the Kangaroo’s are

\nWalked together towards a spot
\nWhen Roman made his play
\nFor Beatriz he just grabbed her
\nPut his arm around her neck
\nPulled her down onto the sand
\ndespite being a wreck<\/p>\n

\nShe didnt feel any pain at all
\nAnd just wanted to climb<\/p>\n
Off the floor and leg it
\nShe thought then that would be
\nWhere her mum might find her body
\nAnd so thankfully
\nShe summoned up the courage
\nPersuading him that she
\nThen shouted out For Len
\nWho came over to see<\/p>\n
“I just wanted to try her”
\nBeatriz was in the nude
\nClearly very frightened
\nRoman was very crude
\nWhen seeing lena
\nHe chased and Beatriz
\nRan and hid
\nHe balled at her
\nAnd bashed her with a hammer
\nIn a bid

\nThen he hit her three more times
\nHe copped his lid
\nhe was after killing her really
\nRight away
\nAnd she ran and jumped upon his car
\nOn the bonnet and away
\nUp upon his roof she crawled
\nBleeding terribly
\nReminding her of blood rain
\nFalling painfully<\/p>\n
All this time Beatriz was hiding
\nNaked in the bush
\nHines was clearly angry
\nHe trying to push
\nHer with his vehicle’s bull bars
\nDriving hard and fast
\nTrying to dislodge
\nHer, though her die she felt was cast<\/p>\n
She said it was like a rodeo
\nA terrible attack
\nHe kept on bloody hitting her
\nAnd she tried to kick him back
\nDriving he reached people
\nWho noticed them and they
\nRang Adam Stewart who rang the police
\nMeanwhile they picked up Beatriz
\nNaked on the sand
\nShe ran infront of their vehicle
\nWhich was hard to understand<\/p>\n
She confirmed what had happened
\nAnd they decided they
\nWould chase down Roman in their car
\nAnd they found him not far away
\nStuck in sand
\nThe police arrived And arrested him
\nThat day
\nThe relief nobody else would be hurt
\nBoth girls were taken to
\nHospital to recover there
\nBoth feeling good and true
\nAnd they would bond forever
\nThats why they both felt they
\nWhat they both had gone through
\nLeft them wanting to say
\nThey never blamed Australia
\nOnly the man and they
\nSubsequently heard at his trial
\nWhen Sylvia made her play
\nThe judge though didnt believe the rape charge
\nDespite the bruises she
\nAnd was pleased that he got 17 years
\nSentence and would be<\/p>\n
The girls were clearly traumatised
\nAnd Beatriz in Brazil
\nSaid she
\ncouldnt go out after dark
\nHis perversion left her still
\nVery very frightened
\nThese two girls clearly they
\nManaged to get through the ordeal
\nBut scars don’t fade away<\/p>\n
A terribly chilling encounter
\nWith a psychopath who felt
\nThe need to torture and murder
\nWith all their cards now dealt
\nThese two young women were tough
\nAnd strong
\nwhich was why for Roman
\nIt all went wrong
\nBackpacking can be serious stuff
\nAnd these two souls clearly
\nHad it rough<\/p>\n
Evil monsters do abound
\nLooking normal as they walk around
\nTwo young women were taken in
\nAnd almost found his wanton sin
\nToo much to cope with but they knew
\nThey could save each other
\nFor very few
\nYoung women could have been so stalwart
\nAs these two who use inventive thought
\nArtfulness and subtlety
