In a carrier
\n“Angel” was found
\njust in the street
\nupon the ground
\na sweet and tender
\ninnocent
\nlay paralysed,and wanting
\nin such pain
\noutside the Mcdonald’s
\nshop in Toronto
\nshe was lain<\/p>\n

and someone with a lovely
\nheart
\nfound her
\nAngel, clearly resolute and wronged
\nscratching at the bag
\nwrapped up in a rag
\nclearly no one knew
\nwhere she belonged<\/p>\n

on her own
\njust left to face
\nthe big world
\na busted spine and ribs
\nand in such pain
\nwanting a lifeline
\nhopeful for a sign
\nfrantic, clearly feeling
\nall the strain<\/p>\n

but showing a resistance
\nfrom the put to sleep brigade
\nfrom the single mindedness and tenaciousnous
\ndisplayed
\napproval from a band of volunteers
\nand donors who
\ndecided they must help her
\nand together
\nshe’s come through<\/p>\n

endurance in what could be seen
\nas hopelessness
\nthis little soul was ready
\nfor to please
\ndetermined to show everybody
\neverything she had
\nthe will to live, and seize
\neach opportunity
\nto prove her earnest
\nsweet resolve
\nby playing with a ball, a towel
\nand helping to evolve<\/p>\n

a strategy of positiveness
\na true determined light
\nfor she had shown them
\nshe had purpose
\nand a of course a right
\nwell just to be
\nalive,
\nwho knows the agony
\nof the past
\nbut she had come through
\nall of that
\nher dye
\nit seemed was cast<\/p>\n

her willingness
\nto single handedly
\ntake whatever pain
\nand fight to be alive against all
\nodds
\nand try again
\nsome semblance of survival
\nshow them tenacity
\nshe had never wanted
\nto be
\nput to sleep
\nher willingness to be
\nconsidered
\nshe had won and

\nthe vigour, she was bigger
\nthan the figure
\non the floor
\na tiny ball of courage
\nand all of that was raw<\/p>\n

those volunteers
\nwere blown away
\nas you will be I’m sure
\nto help the other victims
\nfor tragically
\nthere’s more<\/p>\n
