\nPhysical and tangible

\nIts vast and its dry
\nOblivion can seem like hell
\nTo the average gal

The animals are wild infact
\nthey hardly ever see
\nA man about
\nIts the outback
\nThat is where they be
\nGrassfed there is a sparseness
\nIllusions everywhere
\nThese animals are on their own
\nJust the heat and dust
\nTo share<\/p>\n
Ofcourse accidents happen
\nDisparate it be
\nLiving with creation
\nThe extremes that all can see
\nThe hardness and the harshness
\nThe alertness that one draws
\nOn to just exist out here
\nThe diligent applause<\/p>\n
Neglectful of ones person
\nReckless in a way
\nSleeping in your swag at night
\nAnd slaving all the day
\nReally hanging together
\nGuided by the mob
\nDisputes have to be swallowed
\nIts all down to the job
\nin hand the cattle station
\nThe mustering each day
\nHumanity is out there somewhere
\nBut where no one can say
\nconsciousness is shared around
\nIts living on your wits
\nYou need a spot of judgement
\nAnd know just how it sits<\/p>\n
With relationships around you
\nIn the beckoning of time
\nWhere nothing is ever rational
\nJust pits from whence you climb
\nIts dry its hot its madness
\nNo expectation here
\nNo time for contemplation
\nJust bend your back and fear
\nInventiveness is plausible
\nBut quality and mind
\nIs lost in the expanses
\nOf what you left behind<\/p>\n
The size and the remoteness
\nThe need for so much constancy
\nIts about unflagging efforts
\nAnd what is pure tenacity
\nIt leaves you so inflexible
\nAnd bloody-minded too
\nIts the unrelenting squalor
\nThat just takes over you
\nThe outback is a vastness
\nA wildness and you feel
\nRejected in so many ways
\nIt feels like a bad deal<\/p>\n
Its thinking on ones feet
\nIts impulsiveness all day
\nIts being unprepared
\nFor whatever comes your way
\nSods law there is lots of that
\nDespite intentions you
\nTrying to just get through the day
\nMay not, neither your crew
\nUp against the elements
\nWho are we anyway
\nAnd when the cattle choose to run
\nWhatever the time of day<\/p>\n
A bull head down and rearing
\nIs vulnerable we know
\nWe have an undertaking
\nAnd such things can be a blow
\nAccidents can happen
\nWhere inactivity
\nIs followed by a feverish haste
\nTo suddenly be
\nWhere infact you should have been
\nIt happens and you know
\nAnd injury can be costly
\nIts a right old so and so<\/p>\n
Helicopters motor bikes
\nRough tracks everywhere
\nHorses all these forces
\nBring their own despair
\nQueensland’s dry and exertion here
\nRapidly dries you out
\nAnd The daily grind and drudgery
\nLeaves one in no doubt<\/p>\n
Sleep deprivation gets to you
\nZonked out with it all
\nAll the bugs and mozzies
\nYou feel some kind of fool
\nWithout any council
\nDespite your course to be
\nProficient at survival
\nIn the bush the difficulty<\/p>\n
Can intervene and slow you down
\nAt a time when you must be
\nUp for all the vigour
\nAnd the fervour which is key
\nLife out in the wilderness
\nHelps you begin to see
\nThose wild ones who live out here
\nAll their lives
\nYes are free<\/p>\n
But to die having been hunted
\nBy some city slickers who
\nCome riding in their 4 by fours
\nWith their tucker and who do
\nLive in down town brizzy
\nAnd shop in superstores
\nBrandishing their weaponry
\nAnd up for our applause<\/p>\n
The shooters in it for the money
\nThat is all they see
\nThe Roos the only news
\nFor them, what of the family?
\nThe struggle and the pressure
\nThese less of men who know
\nLittle of the treasure
\nAnd how their grief does grow<\/p>\n
A picture tells a story
\nSo a story has been told
\nThe dead bull in the back
\nGave up his life and he was rolled
\nOn his way to market
\nTo fill the guts of men
\nAnd women who exchange life

Tbeir deaths are so reported

\nGraveyards for the tormented flesh
