By the time some of you read this
\nMany of my friends
\nWill have been sadly eaten
\nThe message that that sends
\nIs one of absolute misery
\nFor I too might have been
\nJointed and Annointed
\nIt so gets me in the spleen!<\/p>\n
Infact i had my ears tagged
\nThey’d painted to confirm
\nI was going to get the chop
\nTo feel the yuletide squirm
\nCattle trucks to slaughter
\nHung up and away
\nBled out like the next one
\nOn this great Christmas Day<\/p>\n
But I was far from ready
\nMy heart was filled with pain
\nTo go to meet the supermarket call off
\nNot again
\nMy life was one great miracle
\nLife for me was good
\nWhy did I have to die tHat day
\nBecause they deemed I should<\/p>\n
So I got myself close to the front
\nAnd when they opened the doors
\nI leapt into the spirit
\nAgain without applause
\nI ran like hell
\nI did not look back
\nDespite their evil plea’s
\nI just ran like the clappers
\nRight into the trees<\/p>\n
And I just kept on running
\nRunning for all my worth
\nI could feel the roots and thistles
\nGrowing out of the earth
\nI could hear my heart a beating
\nLike a massive drum
\nTo the music of true freedom
\nHelping me to see
\nI wouldn’t be a carcass
\nI would so be free<\/p>\n
And entering the forest
\nThe darklands I was sure
\nAll my friends had already died
\nHow can one ignore
\nThat truth that evil reckoning
\nInside of me I knew
\nThey were in somebodys
\nGuts
\nAnd thats not a pleasant view<\/p>\n
For me it became apparent
\nI was all alone
\nA cow had run her srse off
\nA new seed though was sown
\nA new life in the forest
\nBeckoned and surely
\nI could be a wild cow
\nRoaming ever free<\/p>\n
As it transpired
\nI was taken in
\nBy red deer
\nWith acclaim
\nTreated like a hero
\nThey called me that by name
\nAnd for years we strolled
\nThe meadows hidden from the eyes
\nOf the hunting fraternity
