All the struggle and the hardship
\nThe misery we feel
\nThe true distress and misfortune
\nIts very very real
\nMan is never kind when working animals
\nToday
\nIn the logging trade
\nThe monsters
\nReally make us pay<\/p>\n
We are hapless and ill-fated
\nFor the slippery slopes we tread
\nDrag huge great hardwood trunks
\nWe would be better dead
\nIts calamitous behaviour
\nWe are stricken through and through
\nDespite our strength a plenty
\nMan just wants to screw<\/p>\n
Us down torment us daily
\nOur vulnerability
\nIs working like the clappers
\nFor an eternity
\nEverything is aching
\nEverything on fire
\nHobbling and trembling
\nWe really do feel dire<\/p>\n
Man just takes his liberties
\nExploits us makes us see
\nSuffering the torture
\nWhy does it have to be
\nMy back legs really suffer
\nMy back and feet are sore
\nHauling timber up inclines
\nIt does rub my skin raw<\/p>\n
Its flagrantly disturbing
\nThey must know there is pain
\nThey neglect to feel the agony themselves
\nBut its a drain
\nDismissed and disregarded
\nDisrespected too
\nThoughtless and oblivious
\nTo all we try to do<\/p>\n
Its abuse its awful
\nNo matter how hard I try
\nStill they give me heavier logs
\nI do wish now to die
\nJust fall down and be done with it
\nThey violate my soul
\nThey squander all my energy
\nAnd really they control<\/p>\n
My mildness and my gentleness
\nA giant maybe so
\nI could crush this idiot
\nReally with one blow
\nSquash him into ignorance
\nFlatten him and see
\nHis miserable face all bleeding
\nFor what he does to me<\/p>\n
I tolerate his mercilessness
\nLongsuffering am I
\nHumanity is finished
\nIn the twinkling of an eye
\nNo such thing as kindness
\nThey pay lip service here
\nAll this dragging of rough wood
\nIs making me fear<\/p>\n
I have an obligation
\nTo try and compensate
\nTo try and help my owner
\nAnd hopefully create
\nA profitable conclusion
\nBy my hard work
\nHe can be
\nRicher and for that I get
\nBetter food for me <\/p>\n
The sadness is regretably
\nI get a rotten deal
\nI work my guts out day and night
\nBleeding now its real
\nSuffering all the terrible pain
\nMy arthritis it is bad
\nAnd instead of resting me a bit
\nHe works me and I am sad<\/p>\n
Really he is unworthy
\nSo much disdain and scorn
\nMakes me really ask the question
\nWhy was it I was born\uff1f
\nDespised and treated terribly
\nSpurned and left to be
\nout there in all weathers
