The Elder ends its reign
\nOn the twenty second day
\nOf December
\nThen on the 24th
\nThe Birch kicks in
\nHer way
\nSet for her through
\nThe Wintry months
\nThe dark months
\nWhere her light
\nOpens up a path for us
\nWanderers of the night<\/p>\n
Elder a blood builder
\nIts berries and stems so red
\nWith a motherly spirit
\nIn Ireland long ago it was said
\nShe will protect the children
\nFor in ancient Ireland they
\nWere treasured and why shouldnt they be
\nEvery single day<\/p>\n
The Fae found wealth and favour
\nAround them and I know
\nFrom the branches when they were hollowed
\nMusic it can flow
\nBallads of such wonderment
\nFrom the pipes of pan
\nListening to the faeries
\nIts how all life began<\/p>\n
Onto the Birch the ladies
\nOf the forest of fine hair
\nSilvery skin a wayward shower
\nHonest to goodness
\nThrough each hour
\nThe Goddess tree
\nIs where we be
\nThey light the path to where
\nWe see the Rowan following on
