{"id":39629,"date":"2018-12-10T17:22:22","date_gmt":"2018-12-10T17:22:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/?p=39629"},"modified":"2018-12-10T18:04:48","modified_gmt":"2018-12-10T18:04:48","slug":"hannah-hauxwell","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/2018\/12\/hannah-hauxwell\/","title":{"rendered":"Hannah Hauxwell"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A dales women<br \/>\nA spinster<br \/>\nOn an isolated farm<br \/>\nWith an utter realization<br \/>\nThat her idealistic calm<br \/>\nStemmed from her surroundings<br \/>\nHer Low Birkhatt farm was where<br \/>\nSuch an inspirational quality<br \/>\nWhich was why she was living there<\/p>\n<p>Essentially the beauty<br \/>\nThe simplicity of life<br \/>\nInherent in her being<br \/>\nWith her quota of strife<br \/>\nBased on her surroundings<br \/>\nTranscending all she saw<br \/>\nShe had her own identity<br \/>\nAnd her genuineness for sure<\/p>\n<p>High up in North Yorskhire<br \/>\nWith a winter biting hard<br \/>\nMany feet of good old snow<br \/>\nBut nothing really scarred<br \/>\nHer true resolve to prosper<br \/>\nIn a land where she was sold<br \/>\nNo electrics no running water<br \/>\nAnd in Winter it was cold<\/p>\n<p>A fire she had a fire<br \/>\nAnd coal,  and bought it when she could<br \/>\nShe never really had much<br \/>\nBut for her the fire was good<br \/>\nNot one for eating lots of stuff<br \/>\nShe lived on simple fair<br \/>\nApproxinatly \u00a36 per month<br \/>\nShe was so aware<\/p>\n<p>Collecting water from the stream<br \/>\nAnd a stove in which she would boil<br \/>\nShe never went to market<br \/>\nBut she knew how to toil<br \/>\nAlways really rosy cheeked<br \/>\nWith waves of silver hair<br \/>\nShe had the barest necessities<br \/>\nWith little else to spare<\/p>\n<p>The brutal land of teesdale<br \/>\nHigh hills had to see<br \/>\nIn Winter snow fell from the sky<br \/>\nAnd enveloped and she would be<br \/>\nInside her stone cottage<br \/>\nShe loved serenity<br \/>\nThe twilight of the moment<br \/>\nAnd the feeling of being free<\/p>\n<p>She loved the scenic wisdom<br \/>\nThe beautiful blue skies<br \/>\nThe wind the pulled emotion<br \/>\nAnd really as you rise<br \/>\nUpwards in the morning<br \/>\nDress and look away<br \/>\nAcross the far horizons<br \/>\nInto a brand new day<\/p>\n<p>The plainess of the outside view<br \/>\nMeant everything for she<br \/>\nWas so in love with the countryside<br \/>\nFor this is where she be<br \/>\nLooking after a steer of sorts<br \/>\nWhen sold in a whole year<br \/>\nThe income paid for the food she bought<br \/>\nShe said that with a tear<\/p>\n<p>She never ever married<br \/>\nNever found the man<br \/>\nHer pleasure was the countryside<br \/>\nIt was where she began<br \/>\nTo understand the meaning<br \/>\nOf life in them their hills<br \/>\nAstonished by the colours<br \/>\nThat just gave her the chills<\/p>\n<p>Her union with a heaven<br \/>\nConnected to it all<br \/>\nClearly born of tenacity<br \/>\nWhen the wind did crawl<br \/>\nAcross the open moorlands<br \/>\nAlmost up to the sky<br \/>\nShe felt its integrity<br \/>\nWhich was really why<\/p>\n<p>She enjoyed the wholesomeness<br \/>\nThe solidarity<br \/>\nUnbroken really was her love<br \/>\nFor all the world so free<br \/>\nNo money in her pocket<br \/>\nBut the scenery where she<br \/>\nPut her eyes to wonder<br \/>\nWhere on else she might now  be<\/p>\n<p>They called it Hannahs meadow<br \/>\nDurham&#8217;s  Wildlife Trust<br \/>\nHer taking from a bullock sale<br \/>\n280 must<br \/>\nHave really been a struggle<br \/>\nFor all the food and coal<br \/>\nBut she lived there alone and proud<br \/>\nA really special soul<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A dales women A spinster On an isolated farm With an utter realization That her idealistic calm Stemmed from her surroundings Her Low Birkhatt farm was where Such an inspirational quality Which was why she was living there Essentially the &hellip;
