Australia is clearly
\nInsensitive to life
\nTo the wild ones she was gifted
\nAll of them face strife
\nThe “Brumbies”
\nFrom their ancient stock
\nWild feral horses they
\nSome perhaps from the “capers”
\nThe South African array
\nOf horses lost and abandoned
\nThe “Timor”ponies too
\nThe ArabIans the throughbreds
\nAll Ferals good and true<\/p>\n
All With amazing pedigrees
\nHardy souls that can
\nRoam and live and prosper
\nBut I understand a plan
\nIs underway from government
\nThat their blood should be spilled
\nShot by would be shooters
\nJust like that be killed<\/p>\n
There is something wrong
\nWith Australia
\nany soul that fights
\nTo have a place
\nin the outback
\nThey dont have any rights
\nfighting for survival
\nClearly then They all
\ncome face to face
\nWith human beings
\nWho then break every rule<\/p>\n
And kangaroos and koalas
\nand the wild brumby
\nall find
\nAnything that goes wrong out there
\nThe government seems blind
\nDespite their fighting nature
\nAnd their pedigree
\nCreation worked her miracles
\nBeing a part of history<\/p>\n
Who is good at destruction
\nOf the evironment its man
\nHis four by fours
\nHis glass and concrete he
\nHe is the one to ban
\nHis oil wells and his coal mines
\nAnd his filth and dirty ways
\nIf anyone should be curtailed its him
\nFor all the days<\/p>\n
The frackers and the shooters
\nThey are the murdering scum
\nJoeys bring decapitated
\nThe fact now that some
\nOf these feral beings
\nAre better dead some say
\nThey bugger up the national parks
\nIn their desperate way<\/p>\n

\nin his poem Brumby’s run
\nIn 1804 when Sgt James Brumby
\nat Mulgrave Place was done
\nleaving his horses to face the wrath
\nThe outback and all alone
\nWe have to realise
\nThe animals tribes around us
\nSeldom moan
\nthey really are an asset
\nthey get on with their lives
\nThey do not want for handouts
\nEach one of them survives<\/p>\n
And we are the rogues
\nWho cannot contain our killing
\ninstincts we
\nSeem to despise the feral stocks
\nWho clearly love to be
\nForaging and surviving
\nIn the outback and elsewhere
\nWe must see them for what they are
\nAnd not see them as despair<\/p>\n
Wildness is a quality
\nAssociated here
\nAll of the iconic souls
\nAre no where else
\nIts clear
\nCreation saw our precious land
\nAnd wanted us to share
\nIt with these iconic animals
\nAnd so they were brought to bear<\/p>\n
And we need to wake up and smell the roses
