The crows seem excited
\napparently so
\nvoicing objections
\nwherever they go
\nthe sun’s setting down
\nfor what is the whole night
\nin its great golden halo
\nthats burning so bright
\nthere’s a little soft breeze
\nbut in essence its clear
\nthe palm trees they dance
\nwhich to me does endear
\nsome may not notice
\nbut I know that they do
\nbut so many apparently
\ndon’t have a clue
\nthey shield themselves
\nin their great concrete sleeves
\nlifelessly squander the
\npace of each breeze
\nthe life force around us
\nwe selfishly fail
\nto accept or appreciate
\nwhat a sad tale
\nthe wild birds they know
\nthey must
\nrest up and roost
\nthe sun has now gone
\nin its place
\nit has loosed
\nthe last dying embers
\nof fire to behold
\nas the curtain of night
