The porpoise a small cetacean
\nIs up against it they
\nCreep under the radar
\nBeing slaughtered come what may
\nIts all about Taiji alas
\nBecause they are driving there
\nThe banging boats and the pithing tools
\nAnd ofcourse world wide despair<\/p>\n
But think about the porpoise
\nAn endangered species who
\nIs getting a really bad time now
\nIts very friendly too
\nIt loves to bow ride in the sea
\nAnd for this it meets its death
\nJapanese hunter fishermen.
\ndeny them of their breath<\/p>\n
But its very calculated
\nVery very cruel
\nAs they come to play in the surf
\nJapan breaks every rule
\nThey hand harpoon the mammals
\nEach harpoon has a float
\nAnd they carry on harpooning them
\nWhich is something all should note<\/p>\n
With harpoon wounds to think about
\nBleeding out and more
\nThe agony of all of this
\nIts not what life is for
\nWhen they are done with hunting
\nThey collect up all the floats
\nMany are still alive alas
\nWhen gaffed and thrown onto boats<\/p>\n
And there alas they suffocate
\nA slow and painful way
\nOf dying what a way to go
\nThey honestly do pay
\nJust for riding on the bow
\nThe japanese reward them
\nSlaughtering them and how<\/p>\n
Some twenty thousand mammals
\nAre slaughtered now each year
\nThats dolphins on the drive hunts
\nAnd the harpooners who steer
\nTheir boats out in the ocean
\nHarpooning for all their worth
\nSlaughtering these babies
\nLimiting their time on earth<\/p>\n
At least another 10,000 are killed
\nIn drift nets they
\nDie a miserably slow and painful death
\nBy-catch they say
\nBut it doesnt stop the huntIng boats
\nIncreasing kill numbers they
\nAre rising by the year infact
\nAnd its wrong that they must pay<\/p>\n
And the tragedy for me is
\nIt goes unnoticed by
\nMost of social media
\nAnd the warriors all high
\nOn the taiji massacres
\nWe hear it every day
\nWhereas the bulk of their murdering
\nGoes on far away<\/p>\n
And a lot is said of the pithing and the tarps
\nAnd all that stuff
\nOfcourse it is important
\nBut I say theres enough,
\nreason to be angry
\nFor the deaths that do occur
\nIn the other parts now of japan
\nThat are really just a blur<\/p>\n
These animals are sensitive
\nThey feel and so to be
\nIn the hands of the harpoon fisherman
\nTo die so painfully
\nAnd really very little news is spread
\nAbout their plight
\nThey die now in their thousands
\nAnd I dont think thats right<\/p>\n
