We had grown the tree
\nFor about six years
\nIt had lots of leaves
\nAnd the plum that appears
\nWere generally sweet
\nBut it did crop a lot
\nBreaking some branches
\nAnd then some did rot<\/p>\n
\u0174e noticed that wasps
\nRather liked to be near
\nThe plums as they ripened
\nAnd so it was clear
\nWe had to be first
\nBut this year we found
\nA little pink worm
\nInside some on the ground<\/p>\n
That was a nuisance
\nWe thought any way
\nWe kept trying those we thought
\nWould be okay
\nBut it seemed that
\nThe plum moth had
\nBeen up to her tricks
\nLaying her eggs early on
\nSo to fix<\/p>\n
That we decided to chop
\nThe tree through
\nWe do not use chemicals
\nLike others do
\nTo our maker we thought
\nAnd each one we tried
\nThe plum moth
\nWas clearly crawling inside<\/p>\n
So we talked about it
\nAnd decided this week
\nWe would chop it all down
\nAnd a new tree we would seek
\nSo we told the gardener
\nWhat he should do
\nHe decided to try some
\nAnd eating a few
\nHe came in to tell us
\nThey were really sweet
\nEveryone that he tried
\na delectable treat<\/p>\n
So we started tasting
\nAnd surely so good
\nEach one we ate
\nWas as it should
\nCrispy and sweet
\nAnd a joy to be tried
\nSo why the big change
\nWith nothing applied<\/p>\n
Could be our thoughts
\nOf Chopping it down
\nIt got to the tree
\nAnd the tree went to town
\nTo clear out those maggots
\nTo come to our aid
\nAnd only have ripe sweet
\nYoung plums on parade<\/p>\n
It was all down to senses
\nVibrations we feel
\nThe tree got the message
\nAnd it did reveal
\nA power over pink worms
\nTo rival them all
\nWhen a tree wants to grow somewhere
\nIt makes the rule.<\/p>\n
So we got a message to keep its roots clear
\nFeed it each spring
\nAnd let it hear
\nWe really love to taste
\nAll of its fruit
\nAnd we love the plum tree
\nFor its branches do suit<\/p>\n
Our little garden
\nAnd now we both know
\nWhatever it wants
\nIn the great ebb and flow
\nWe wont forget to
\nPrune gently and
\nFeed it in spring
\nFor we do understand<\/p>\n
Talk to your plants
\nTalk to your trees
\nGet close and comfortable
\nGive them a squeeze
\nFeed them in spring
\nWatch them all year
\nAnd say that you love it
