The creature that hunt’s when the skies are not blue
\nWhen the moon is awake when probably you
\nAre tucked up in bed with a dream in your eye
\nWildness is there’s if you give it a try
\nThe badger his sett is deep in the earth
\nIn some lonely dingle this fellow finds worth
\nIn living the woodland
\nIn underground dawns
\nHe is wild
\nAnd a child in this country of yawns
\nWho draws out the spirit
\nWho knows the desire
\nWho darts through the brambles
\nAnd faces man~ fire
\nThe mosses may comfort him
\nDauntingly he
\nMay trek to the brook
\nIn his flight to be free
\nBut the fire in the guns
\nOf those people who think
\nBadgers and TB
\nThat there is a link
\nAnd who portions out blame
\nAnd consign’s cubs to die
\nIn underground passages
\nI ask them why?<\/p>\n

The creature that hunts
\nBy itself all alone
\nOn the verge of the bank
\nBy the huge standing stone
\nWho take’s out a rabbit
\nIn seconds and so
\nThat rough coat of grey
\nCan continue to grow<\/p>\n

The point of me writing
\nAbout this old lad
\nWho spends lots of time
\nIn the dark of his pad
\nIs that now it’s the Badger
\nWhose seen as the foe
\nHe carries disease
\nTo the cows down below
\nIn the fields giving milk
\nTill their udders run dry
\nAnd then its the chop
\nAnd then they must die<\/p>\n

Some take it on They must
\ndispatch
\nThis bold little creature
\nWho just is no match
\nHe is honestly caring
\nAnd charged with such fun
\nAnd doesn’t deserve
\nTo die by the gun
