There is no excuse at all
\nFor remaining ignorant
\nOf what goes on
\nShooting kangaroo’s
\nLike there’s no tomorrow
\nwhat are We going to do when they
\nare gone?<\/p>\n
Murdering for the meat trade
\nAnd for leather too
\nFarmers allowing shooting
\nOn their land
\nWhich many do
\nRoad kill there are many
\nAnd those that well just die
\nAnd now without tag shooting
\nIts enough to make me cry<\/p>\n
The shooting that takes place
\nIts not all head shots
\nThe so called training programme
\nIs a joke
\nAnyone can do a course
\nAnd become a murdering butcher
\nIn less than one day
\nAnd thats bespoke<\/p>\n
Females with their joeys
\nAre often gunned down
\nMany hop away and later
\nDie
\nThe joeys they wont waste
\nBullets on them and so their heads
\nAre torn
\nOff their little bodies
\nInfanticide we spawn<\/p>\n
Iniquity what else is ripping
\nOff a babies head
\nOr leaving it to starve to death
\nOr slammed on the truck bed
\nIt takes a nasty bit of work
\nTo have this disrespect
\nFor animals I have to say
\nAnd of course it goes unchecked<\/p>\n
These are special animals
\nDesigned to be here they
\nHave soft feet to protect the land
\nThey roam across each day
\nThey exist on not much water
\nThey lick themselves to cool
\nAs ruminants they chew the cud
\nBut cleverly they rule
\nThe roost on limiting methane
\nCreations gift on call
\nPerfectly designed for where they are
\nAnd, that isnt all<\/p>\n
They plant wild plants
\nThey are gardeners they are positive
\nAnd wild
\nAnd are only found in Australia
\nWhen I think just how defiled
\nThey are all chased and harried
\nShot at day and night
\nSlaughtered for the pet trade
\nWhich I dont feel is right<\/p>\n
Murdered for the meat trade
\nAnd butchered in the bush
\nBy unprofessional butchers
\nWho are working at a push
\nIn steamy hot conditions
\nLacking hygiene thats for sure
\nWhere refrigerants are lacking
\nSomething some ignore<\/p>\n
The whole things disrespectful
\nOpportunists earn their dosh
\nBut out there with the heat and flies
\nShooters do not wash
\nIt is dirty business
\nAnd no wonder Russia ceased
\nBy the time the meat was delivered
\nThe bugs had had their feast<\/p>\n
A created soul a miracle
\nA baby why should they
\nBe murdered every time they kill
\nA female its no way
\nFor us To treat a baby
\nIf A dog or cat then we
\nWould have the Authorities
\nSuing us for outright cruelty<\/p>\n
But the kangaroo is treated
\nLike this on every kill
\nIf it be a female with a joey
\nBlood will spill
\nAnd this is what that are doing
\nAnd its sickening to see
\nAnd remember they are not butchers
\nJust a short course which is key<\/p>\n
In my book some of you possibly do feel
\nwild at heart
\nsome do
\nDespite your city living
\nFor some no doubt its true
\nBut Its a different world out there
\nThe outback isnt where
\nPreparation of carcasses
\nShould happen and I dare<\/p>\n
Say the city dwellers
\nGiven perhaps to share
\nWouldnt want to eat that much
\nReally unwashed out there
\nAnd yet its sold like crazy
\nAnd support is given too
\nAnd The meat trade ofcourse laps it up
\nWhat else do you think they do<\/p>\n
My appeal to all of you
\nIs ramp up the compassion and try
\nAnd think of the poor old roo’s out there
\nUnderneath the sky
\nIn those drought conditions
\nBeing shot at when they feed
\nBeing knocked down when they venture near the road
\nOh yes indeed<\/p>\n
Its a hard life in the outback
\nAs many of you guess
\nAnd roo’s need consideration
\nNot this constant stress
\nRelaxing the conditions
\nGiving shooters the whip hand
\nMurdering the wild ones
