The sociableness
\nand gregariousness
\nOf the seagulls
\nTheir gatherings
\nIn numbers a real treat
\nForaging the world
\nFor any morsal
\nTheir plaintive garrulous voices
\nAlways greet<\/p>\n
The visitors
\nAll wheeling overhead
\nAnd Coming down to share
\nA family picnic
\nWorking the ebb tide
\nFor something dead<\/p>\n
They scour the sands
\nThe gutters they are everywhere
\nThey remind us of the seaside
\nThey do me
\nThey come inland to forage
\nOn our rivers And canals sometimes
\nAnd will let the ducks know
\nThey too are hungry<\/p>\n
Flight patterns seem disorderly
\nBut they dance on surf and wave
\nSearching on the foreshore
\nHoping we will save
\nPart of lunch to give them
\nThey are scavengers you see
\nAlways out for what they can get
\nTheir white plumage beautifully<\/p>\n
Graces many a harbour wall
\nWhere they congregate in hope
\nWhere there could be some fish debris
\nOr mussels on the rope
\nApparently they are joyous
\nAnd intelligent to boot
\nFlying off like crazy
\nIf they think they have some loot<\/p>\n
Something that they all want
\nA skates head, maybe
\nIn their panic one may drop it
\nBack down in the sea
\nAnd then oh what a squabble
\nAn argy bargy fight
\nLots of wild confusion
\nFrom a feathery mass of white<\/p>\n
They are very audacious
\nThey take on wind and waves
\nSoaring high and diving low
\nThey are the nations knaves
\nResolute and plucky
\nSeldom daunted they
\nThough wild and seen as nusisances
