An alien world
\nLeft bereft of hope
\nImagine a soul
\nIt is hard to cope<\/p>\n
Just inconsolable
\nUndone forlorn
\nIn terrible pain
\nOne’s mouth clearly torn<\/p>\n
Terribly injured
\nThirsty was I
\nI needed the drink
\nAnd there it did lie<\/p>\n
But the bottle was broken
\nThe glass everywhere
\nIn my throat and my tongue
\nOverwrought with despair<\/p>\n
Car after car
\njust passed me by
\nNobody saw me
\nOr heard me cry<\/p>\n
Or imagined me weeping
\nHow long could I
\nStand in this heat
\nUnder this sky<\/p>\n
So much joylessness
\nFilled up each hour
\nIn the lowest of spirits
\nLeft in the now<\/p>\n
My dolefulness sinking
\nInto my soul
\nThe gravity really
\nBeyond my control<\/p>\n
Then an angel
\nBeside me
\nQuietly he came
\nGently he offerred me hope
\nWithout blame<\/p>\n
A break in the clouds
\nSolace for me
\nI sighed with relief
\nMy burden might be<\/p>\n
Coming to an end
\nAs another soul came
\nThey lifted me carefully
\nThe very same<\/p>\n
Love they extended
\nAll over me
\nI wagged my tail
\nDid all of you see?<\/p>\n
A ray of comfort
\nMy painfulness
\nWas starting to feel
\nI have to confess<\/p>\n
The blessing of loving
\nDescended on me
\nI felt the care
\nThat you could all see<\/p>\n
They called me “Noah”
\nAnd just being where
\nAngels show love and respect
\nAnd they care<\/p>\n
Cleaning my wounds
\nUnderstanding my woe
\nDealing with my anguish
\nI just felt a glow<\/p>\n
From one alien world
\nTo another where care
\nWhere calmness and love
\nWas spread everywhere<\/p>\n
They made me feel wanted
\nInstinctively
\nSo eager to help
\nSo sensitively<\/p>\n
Animal aid unlimited
\nThey
\nWere beautiful humans
\nIn everyway<\/p>\n
I have such admiration
\nTheir wonderment was
\nSomething phenomenal
\nAnd just because<\/p>\n
They felt my agony
\nThey knew my pain
\nThey brought me hope
