Night frightens its the darkness
\nIts not knowing
\nIts a fear
\nBut nothing changes really
\nWe lose the light
\nIts clear<\/p>\n
Its in the mind as children
\nWe wander to and fro
\nBut in the forest
\nwe have been taught
\nIts not the place to go<\/p>\n
But you are there
\nThe lake the trees
\nYour temporary home
\nAnd you have your shelves
\nyour kettle your axe
\nReally you can please<\/p>\n
Yourself your thermal blanket
\nYour hand warmers so you
\nCan snuggle down and dream a while
\nIt is what you do<\/p>\n
The birchez silver fingers
\nThe lake mirrored in cloud
\nYou have a sense of being
\nI am sure you are feeling wowed
\nBy the secrets you are discovering
\nIn your survival mode
\nYour fire your cooking your valour
\nAnd so my little ode<\/p>\n
Comes as a surprise no doubt
\nfrom a poet far away
\nWho sees the night and all its secrets
\nIts just like any day
\nThe night eyes will watch over you
\nFor the wonderment is there
\nThe complete fascination
\nOf the open air<\/p>\n
The amazement and the bewilderment
\nThe sensation of it all
\nThe awe inspiring enigmatic
\nReason why they call
\nThe wild ones they will watch over you
\nAnd protect you night and day
\nClearly you are charitable
\nTo nature anyway.<\/p>\n
